We’ll get a pummeling of Danish death metal on January 31 when Maceration’s Serpent Devourment drops via Emanzipation Productions. In the meantime, check out their video for “Where Leeches Thrive” to get a taste.
“You will feel like be drained from blood by leeches in the very heavy tune, which have a very doomy and heavy main refrain building up the desperation and hate in a vocal line catchy and strong, getting the song to stay in your head,” the band say about this track.
This is the band’s first album in 30 years, so we’ve been waiting a while for this one. The band is made up of vocalist Jan Bergmann Jepsen, guitarist Jakob Schultz, and bassist Rune Koldby. Schultz is also the main composer and only original member who was also previously in the renowned Danish band Invocator, and Koldby has played with Exmortem and Spectral Mortuary.
You can also check out the band live if you’re in Europe. Hopefully, thanks to this record, they’ll be touring elsewhere in the coming months.
