Track Premiere: Axioma – ‘Live Totality’

Those familiar with Cleveland’s Axioma probably know them best for their post-black metal work, which they’ve been creating since 2016’s Opia. They decided to change things up for their latest release, Live Totality, which contains a massive live recording (more info below) and three new studio recordings.

As bassist and vocalist Aaron Dallison explains, “”Early in 2024 we were approached by a friend to play live on lakefront property (Lake Erie) for the total solar eclipse in April. We decided to compose a piece of music that would coincide with the eclipse in real time. Luckily all of the stars aligned (pun intended), and the weather was perfect, which is not a common occurrence in Northeast Ohio! Some friends came out to film it, and we recorded the audio ourselves.”

Some of Axioma’s black metal tendencies are present on the new song, “Live Totality,” but they’re meshed with droning, heavy doom that offsets that sound and presents the band in a new light.

“We had one shot to pull it off, and are stoked at the outcome of the video and audio recording! To sweeten the deal we went into the studio and tracked some new material we were working on, thus spawning the Live Totality EP. As usual play it loud and enjoy!”

You can listen to and watch the performance of “Live Totality” the song below. The rest of Live Totality the EP comes out on December 5.
