Slayer Tease Final World Tour

Thrash metal progenitors Slayer have earned countless accolades over the years–including two Decibel Hall of Fame inductions for Reign in Blood and South of Heaven and four Decibel covers — but it appears that their illustrious career may be approaching its end. Early this morning, Slayer posted on their Facebook page “The End is Near…Slayer to tour the world one more time…” along with a video featuring photographs of the band’s various eras with a message that final tour dates would be posted soon.

It’s important to remember that no other details are available at this time and it’s unclear what this message means for the future of Slayer. Even if this is the end of Slayer’s touring career, they could still have plans to play select shows or release new music. For now, all we can do is speculate based on the cryptic video.

Update: Slayer have since released a tour flyer that includes support from Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament.
