SALTWOUND have announced their debut album!
Titled The Temptation Of Pain, the upcoming album from the Californian deathcore band is their debut full-length album, and is scheduled to be released in November this year, via SharpTone Records.
Speaking about the upcoming debut album, vocalist Spencer Timmons says, “with every release, we try to create something that sounds different from what we’ve done in the past. We never want to be a one-trick pony. It’s easy to find a niche and suck the well dry. We’re trying to evolve though. I think we achieved that with this album. To me, Temptation is more like attraction. As a culture and a society, we’re attracted to things that hurt us and cause us pain. Negativity gets more ‘clicks’. These aren’t positive things that uplift our lives, but we gravitate to them. It applies to my personal life. Being in a band is hard, so why don’t I put my effort into going back to school and getting a safe nine-to-five job? It’s because I’m attracted to what causes me stress. The same goes for relationships. So, every song touches on an element of being drawn to what causes hurt and pain.”
Alongside the announcement of the debut album, SALTWOUND have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Severance. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming debut album, following on from Hollow, which was released last month. The new song features a guest appearance from Nick Chance of DISTINGUISHER.
Speaking about the new song, Timmons says, “it’s my wish to separate myself from the world in a macro and micro sense. In my personal life and what I see going on, it’s nothing but pain, misery, and things I can’t stand. So, you want to be set free and separated from this darkness. I love music more than anything, but so much of this industry repulses me.”
