THE DEAD DAISIES Begin Recording New Album

THE DEAD DAISIES have entered a North Hollywood, California studio to begin recording their new album. The follow-up to 2021’s “Holy Ground” is tentatively due later this year.

“Holy Ground” was released in January 2021. Recorded at La Fabrique Studios in the south of France with producer Ben Grosse, the LP was the band’s first to feature Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), who joined the group in 2019 as its new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY).

Drummer Deen Castronovo (JOURNEY) announced his exit from THE DEAD DAISIES in January 2021, two days after the band’s publicist revealed that Tommy Clufetos (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK SABBATH) would rejoin THE DEAD DAISIES when they hit the road in support of “Holy Ground”. Clufetos previously toured with THE DEAD DAISIES in 2015.

Two months ago, THE DEAD DAISIES announced the return of drummer extraordinaire Brian Tichy to the musical collective of Hughes, Doug Aldrich (guitar) and David Lowy (guitar).

Brian first joined THE DEAD DAISIES in 2013 during the U.S. “Uproar” tour and has regularly played with the band ever since, including highlights in Cuba, in Poland with an immense orchestra at the Woodstock Festival (Poland) and performed on the “Revolución” and “Make Some Noise” albums. He is also known for playing with WHITESNAKE, FOREIGNER and OZZY OSBOURNE, among others.

IN FLAMES Completes Recording 14th Album

Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have finished recording their fourteenth studio album. The follow-up to 2019’s “I, The Mask” is due later in the year.

The news of the IN FLAMES LP’s completion was shared by singer Anders Fridén who took to his Instagram earlier today (Monday, March 7) to write: “Done…Nailed it!!! #14 #supportukraine #inflames”.

IN FLAMES’ upcoming album will mark the band’s recording debut with American drummer Tanner Wayne, best known for his work with UNDERMINDED, SCARY KIDS SCARING KIDS and CHIODOS. Wayne joined IN FLAMES following the departure of Joe Rickard, who played on “I, The Mask” and 2016’s “Battles”.

Tanner made his live debut with IN FLAMES in July 2018 in Brno, Czech Republic.

Longtime IN FLAMES drummer Daniel Svensson announced in 2015 that he was leaving the band to focus on his family life.

IN FLAMES’ current lineup features American bassist Bryce Paul, who has been playing most of the shows with the group since longtime bassist Peter Iwers’s November 2016 exit.

Three years ago, IN FLAMES guitarist Niclas Engelin stopped touring with the band to focus on “personal matters.” Filling in for him since then has been former MEGADETH and current ACT OF DEFIANCE guitarist Chris Broderick.

In August 2020, IN FLAMES released a special 20th-anniversary edition of its seminal, critically acclaimed album “Clayman”. “Clayman 20th Anniversary Edition” came entirely remastered by Ted Jensen (PANTERA, DEFTONES, GOJIRA) and featured all-new artwork in a 16-page booklet, a brand-new instrumental medley plus four re-recorded versions of fan favorites such as “Only For The Weak” and “Pinball Map”.

JOHN 5 AND THE CREATURES will embark on the “Sinner” tour next month. The band consists of John 5 on guitar, Ian Ross on bass and drummer Alex Mercado. Opening 15 of the 27 stops are THE HAXANS, the spooky rock duo featuring NEW YEARS DAY frontwoman Ash Costello and ROB ZOMBIE bassist Piggy D. JOHN 5 AND THE CREATURES will support FOZZY on some dates.

John 5 shares: “I am so happy and excited to get out there on the road. It’s one of my favorite things to do in life and I am excited to see all the familiar faces. I can’t wait to play some new songs off the ‘Sinner’ album and travel the country. It truly is going to be an amazing year.”

JOHN 5 AND THE CREATURES will be recording shows along the “Sinner” tour for a live album and video, with San Francisco and New York dates confirmed for the recordings so far.

John 5 will be featured in an upcoming documentary called “Dreams Of Distortion” about “following your dreams and never giving up.” The documentary also features Rob Zombie, Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST), Nikki Sixx (MÖTLEY CRÜE), Peter Criss (KISS), K.D. In 2015, following a series of web shows to celebrate the release of his solo album “Careful With That Axe”, John 5 decided to take his solo set on tour and formed THE CREATURES band to support his live shows. Initially joined by long-term friend Rodger Carter on drums, the band continues touring to this day, and now work as a unit on 5’s solo albums, including “Season Of The Witch”, the live album “It’s Alive”, “Invasion” and 2021’s “Sinner”.
