A brand new MOTÖRHEAD tribute album has been announced!
The upcoming release, titled Killed By Deaf – A Punk Tribute To Motörhead, is scheduled to be released in October this year, via BMG Recordings.
The album celebrates the enduring influence of MOTÖRHEAD on punk rock, featuring contributions from some of the genre’s most respected names, including RANCID, PENNYWISE, LAGWAGON, GBH, THE BRONX, and FEAR, alongside rising acts like SLAUGHTERHOUSE.
Across fourteen tracks, the compilation delivers raucous reinterpretations of MOTÖRHEAD classics, plus one very special inclusion: a previously unheard version of THE DAMNED’s Neat Neat Neat, recorded with Lemmyin 2002.
Speaking on the connection between MOTÖRHEAD and punk, Lemmy once famously said: “The punks loved us. The only reason we weren’t in that lot was because we had long hair, so obviously we must be heavy metal. That was the thinking. But a lot of kids heard us without seeing a picture, so they thought we were a punk band.”
