Metal Blade Records have launched their very own bourbon whiskey!

The Los Angeles-based label has teamed up with Rare Character Whiskey Company to release VTO – Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a premium spirit distilled in Indiana and aged in Kentucky. Using a popular mashbill, the bourbon undergoes a unique aging process in Kelvin Char 4 barrels, exposing it to Kentucky’s temperature swings and humidity for a deep, rich flavor profile.

The result is a complex bourbon boasting notes of vintage cherry cola and tobacco. On the nose, expect aromas of cherry syrup, dense oak, sarsaparilla, vanilla cream, baking spice, and subtle butterscotch. The palate delivers flavors reminiscent of root beer, cream soda, and cherry vanilla cola, complemented by butterscotch, baking spice, and tobacco. The finish is medium-long, with caramel, vanilla, and light spice giving way to dry leather, tobacco, and aged oak.

Barrel Details:

Barrel No: VTO-020
Proof: 123.78
Age: 9 years, 7 months
ABV: 61.89%
