For over two decades, Johnny A. has cultivated a reputation as one of rock and roll’s supreme guitarists and bandleaders.
A Massachusetts native, Johnny was an acclaimed guitarist in the Boston music scene before anchoring J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf’s solo group for more than seven years.
Following a series of successful solo releases, Johnny A is now set to hit the road with the Yardbirds, bringing the band’s legendary and electrifying show to audiences around the world.
In collaboration with Epiphone, Johnny recently announced the Limited Edition Johnny A. Custom Outfit guitar. Based on Johnny’s original design, the guitar features a beautiful Flame Maple top in Sunset Glow finish, Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers, Bigsby B70 vibrato and an Ebony fretboard.
The guitar’s design—featuring a sharp double cutaway—is the look that’s made Johnny A. one of the most easily recognized players working today. “Epiphone did an amazing job with this guitar,” Johnny says. “I know it’s not an easy guitar to build and it’s fantastic.”
