HENKA has released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track I Wanna Destroy U, is the brand new single from the post-hardcore/pop-rock project helmed by Cat Pereira, and follows on from her previous single, I’m A God, which was released in July last year.
The song was leveraged for the final of Portugal’s Eurovision qualifying contest Festival da Canção, and it amassed 500,000 YouTube views, a 500% increase in streaming numbers and saw HENKA receive the most public votes to represent Portugal at Eurovision, despite not being chosen for the final.
Speaking about the new song, and its accompanying music video, the artist shares with us, “I Wanna Destroy U is the raw explosion of anger that has been building up—years of repressed frustration from watching injustice go unchallenged. It’s a response to a world where a man’s anger is seen as power, while a woman’s is labeled as insanity. This song breaks that silence.
It’s a raw and unapologetic journey through chaos and release—an intimate confrontation with the anger that has been kept in the shadows for far too long. I want this video to be a mirror for everyone who has ever felt silenced or discarded, showing that it is possible to break free and express your truth without fear.”
