Fortress Festival have announced two new bands for next year’s festival!
After announcing 13 bands last month – including GALLOWBRAID, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, DARKENED NOCTURN SLAUGHTERCULT, GROZA and more, now, another two bands have been confirmed for next year’s black metal festival in Scarborough!
London’s AKERCOCKE will perform a worldwide exclusive full album set of 2003’s Choronzon, whilst Norwegian black metallers WHOREDOME RIFE will headline the festival’s second stage, The Ocean Room.
Speaking about headlining next year’s festival, AKERCOCKE said, “AKERCOCKE will perform Choronzon, in full, at this historic venue. As we begin the countdown to May 2026 we invite all to join us in celebrating Choronzon at this truly special event.”
Festival founder, Gary Stephenson, says, “following our initial announcements for 2026, which have seen over 50% of tickets sold, we’re thrilled to continue building a unique lineup for our audience. Having AKERCOCKE perform Choronzon in full on the main stage is a true honour, and securing WHOREDOM RIFE to headline our third stage is another testament to the diverse and high-quality acts we aim to bring to Fortress.”
Fortress Festival takes place at Scarborough Spa, Scarborough from May 30th – May 31st 2026. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
