Watch Former GREAT WHITE Singers JACK RUSSELL And TERRY ILOUS Team Up For Livestreamed Acoustic Concert
Ex-GREAT WHITE singer Jack Russell teamed up with his successor, Terry Ilous, along with guitarists Robby Lochner and Phil Woodward, for a special acoustic concert on Friday, June 26 on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise Facebook page.
Video footage of the set, which included acoustic renditions of songs from GREAT WHITE, XYZ and LED ZEPPELIN, can be seen below.
Back in July 2018, Russell slammed his former bandmates in GREAT WHITE for the “deceitful” way Ilous was kicked out of the group.
Ilous, formerly of ’80s L.A. hard rockers XYZ, joined GREAT WHITE in 2010 after replacing touring vocalist Jani Lane (WARRANT).
The Ilous-led GREAT WHITE released two albums, 2012’s “Elation” and 2017’s “Full Circle”, before Terry was shown the door and replaced with Mitch Malloy.
Ilous later released a statement in which he claimed he was blindsided by his dismissal from GREAT WHITE, saying that he “proudly invested” all of his energy and focus “into the GREAT WHITE brand.”
Russell, who was himself fired from GREAT WHITE in December 2011 (after being on hiatus from the group since 2009), took to his Facebook page to offer his thoughts on Terry’s departure from the band, writing: “I just wanted to express my condolences to Terry Ilous for the deceitful way my X band members dealt with the situation of his termination kind of reminds me of something else. Huh? In the last few months Terry and I have gotten to know each other through Linkedin have become what I would say friends. As far as I’m concerned, he’s a great guy and he had an opportunity and he took it. The fact is it was my fault that it all happened to begin with. I was unreliable, unhealthy and my addiction ruled my world. I wouldn’t have wanted to play with me either if I were them. The only thing I was very upset about was the way they went about it. But at least Terry got an e-mail where I received nothing not even a phone call or a return message. But this is not about me this is about Terry. I’m sure he will find his way to a better place as he is a great singer and has a lot of talent and I have a lot of respect for him. I wish him well and I hope you will all support him in his future efforts.”
Russell sued his onetime bandmates in 2012 over their continued use of the GREAT WHITE name after the singer had taken a leave of absence from the band for medical reasons. A short time later, Russell was countersued by guitarist Mark Kendall, keyboardist/guitarist Michael Lardie and drummer Audie Desbrow, claiming the vocalist’s self-destructive behavior was damaging the GREAT WHITE name (they also alleged he was charging promoters less for his own touring version of GREAT WHITE). The parties settled in July 2013 without going to trial, with Russell now performing with a new lineup as JACK RUSSELL’S GREAT WHITE while the others are continuing as GREAT WHITE.
SHARK TANK – Jack & Terry LIVE @ Third Encore
Great way to kick off the weekend. Classic tunes from Great White, XYZ, and Led Zeppelin! Tune in and get the LED out!

TRIXTER’s STEVE BROWN Says Drummer MARK ‘GUS’ SCOTT ‘Is On The S**t List Right Now’: I Don’t Know If That’s Ever Gonna Get Repaired’
In a brand new interview with That Metal Interview, TRIXTER guitarist Steve Brown was asked about the current status of the band he co-founded in 1983. He said (hear audio below): “I’ll be honest and say that we’re a fragmented band at the moment. Some internal business stuff went on, which I don’t really wanna talk about right now. But, yeah, the band, we’re kind of shut down; we’re really not working. Pete’s [Loran, vocals] got a day job and he’s taking care of his kids. So, there’s really no band live stuff in the works, sadly. We’re celebrating our 30th anniversary of the first album right now. I’m in the process of working with the record company and also with Universal Music in getting the rights and the master tapes back from the first TRIXTER record to be able to do a properly licensed 30th-anniversary remixed and remastered deluxe edition vinyl of the first record. So there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes TRIXTER stuff that I’m doing as far as transferring old demos and getting the material ready for an unbelievable deluxe edition, if the powers that be allow us to do that.
“But regarding Pete and Gus [drummer Mark ‘Gus’ Scott], there’s nothing really going on there. And really, the beef between the band is with Mark Scott — he’s kind of on the shit list right now, and I don’t know if that’s ever gonna get repaired. So let’s just enjoy the fact that P.J. [Farley, bass] and I are out there making great music. I’m finishing up mixing P.J.’s new solo CD right now. I have the new TOKYO MOTOR FIST record coming out. P.J. and I play with Eric Martin from MR. BIG — we do this MR. BIG/TRIXTER-type show with Eric, which I sing the TRIXTER songs, and fans are loving it. So there’s always a lot going on. But I don’t foresee the original TRIXTER band playing anytime soon.”
Last month, Mark “Gus” Scott discussed TRIXTER’s future during a chat with Totally Driven Radio. He said: “Let me say right off the bat, there’s no hidden agenda. It’s not like I can’t say anything. There is nothing to say. There really has been no talk about it.
“I think, at this point, people understand there’s almost two schools of thought between the East Coast and the West Coast of what’s going on,” he said in regard to the possibility of TRIXTER performing again. “But that being said, Lord knows I’ve said things in the past. I said, ‘Oh, this won’t happen,’ and then two days later, it happened. [Laughs] That’s just the way it works — you never know what can happen. So I don’t wanna say I’m negative about it; I’m open to any idea. But the way it looks right now, no, it doesn’t look good, to be honest with you — no.
“It’s been about two and a half years since we’ve done anything together, and that is not by my choice, that’s for sure,” he continued. “It’s a very sad set of circumstances. I love TRIXTER more than anything in the world — I really do — and if someone said, ‘Hey, we have an opportunity to do this tomorrow,’ I’d be, like, ‘Well, there we go. I’m in.’ And, unfortunately, not everybody shares the same sentiment.”
According to Mark, the blame for TRIXTER’s inactivity doesn’t fall squarely on the shoulders on one or two members.
“I have to say, in defense of some of their actions, the circumstances have to be right,” he said. “You can’t just do it for nothing; we have to do things in a proper fashion. So if the circumstances are right and everybody’s attitude is in the right place, is there a possibility? I think there’s a possibility, yeah. But right now, I just don’t see it.
“I think at the end of the day, there is a lack of desire — there really is,” he explained. “And maybe that’s on everybody’s part — I’m not just gonna pass the buck. But I’ve gotta say there’s probably more desire on my part than most.
“I was always the guy [who would say] I’d do it for nothing. And a part of me wants to do that. And that’s really what it’s all about. We didn’t get into this just for the business end. I wanted to rock, hit my drums and kick butt — that’s really what it was all about. But at the end of the day, if you’re gonna be a pro band, you’ve gotta act like a pro. And if you’re not going to, then you do the brand a disservice, you do TRIXTER a disservice, you do the fans a disservice.
“If you own a convenience store and you’ve got four owners, and four different guys have four different opinions, how are you gonna run a good convenience store?” Mark asked rhetorically. “Now, let’s throw that in rock and roll with a bunch of rock and roll moron mentalities. It’s hard to drive a ship in a certain direction if you’re saying, ‘Let’s go four different ways.’ It’s not just a rock band — it’s anything — and I think people have to understand that. It’s a shame, but people’s priorities are in different places.”
Since reuniting, TRIXTER has released two studio albums via Frontiers Music Srl — 2012’s “New Audio Machine” and 2015’s “Human Era”.
Scott celebrated the 30th anniversary of TRIXTER’s biggest MTV hit, “Give It To Me Good”, by releasing a solo version of the song on May 14. CDs and downloads are available through Apple iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Music and CD Baby. Personally autographed CDs are available at www.MarkGusScott.com.
TRIXTER toured extensively in the United States, Canada and Japan in support of its five major label releases. They have performed live in arenas and amphitheaters with crowds up to 35,000 people, appearing with such rock superstars as KISS, SCORPIONS, POISON, TED NUGENT, NIGHT RANGER, CINDERELLA, TWISTED SISTER, DOKKEN, WARRANT, GREAT WHITE and FIREHOUSE.

LAMB OF GOD’s RANDY BLYTHE ‘Would Love To Play In The Czech Republic Again’, Seven Years After Being Acquitted Of Manslaughter
LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe says that he “would love” to play in the Czech Republic again.
In 2012, Blythe was arrested in the Czech Republic and charged with manslaughter for allegedly pushing a 19-year-old fan offstage at a show two year prior and causing injuries that led to the fan’s death. Blythe spent 37 days in a Prague prison before ultimately being found not guilty in 2013.
Randy addressed the possibility of performing in the Czech Republic while answering fan questions earlier this week during a Reddit AMA.
He said: “I would love to play in the Czech Republic again — I have nothing against the Czech people, and I was not mistreated there. Eventually I think we might play there again, but it will 100 percent have to be with the cooperation of the family of the young man who died, and I would want to give the money from the show to a charity they choose. If we played there, it would be a huge news story, and I do not wish to cause the young man’s family anymore pain — they did no wrong, and were not cruel to me at all; in fact they showed me great kindness. But they have suffered enough, so it is out of respect to them we have not returned. I hope the Czech fans understand.”
Blythe’s prison experience inspired two songs on LAMB OF GOD’s 2015 album “VII: Sturm Und Drang”: “512”, one of his three prison cell numbers, and “Still Echoes”, written while he was in Pankrac Prison, a dilapidated facility built in the 1880s that had been used for executions by the Nazis during World War II. It also led him to write the memoir “Dark Days”, in which he shared his whole side of the story publicly for the first time.
“I think artistically, it was a very valid choice to use those two songs because they come from a very real, very dark place,” Blythe told the New York Post back in 2015. “I write about things that are impactful for my life that stir up emotion in me, that affect me, that have some sort of impact within my life. Not that going to prison has no impact in my life, but I was out of prison and I felt it would be disingenuous to use it as a creative well to draw from.”
Blythe is currently promoting LAMB OF GOD’s self-titled album, which was released on June 19 via Epic Records in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. The follow-up to 2015’s “VII: Sturm Und Drang” marks the band’s first recordings with Art Cruz, who joined LOG last year as the replacement for the group’s founding drummer, Chris Adler.
“Lamb Of God” was recorded with longtime producer Josh Wilbur (KORN, MEGADETH, GOJIRA, TRIVIUM) and includes special guest appearances by Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED) and Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT).

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT To Release First Album In Two Decades, ‘The Symbol Remains’, In October
BLUE ÖYSTER CULT will return with a mammoth new studio album, “The Symbol Remains”, this October. Coming nearly two decades after the release of the band’s last studio LP, “Curse Of The Hidden Mirror”, the effort showcases a band which hasn’t been slowed by the time passed but is simply unfazed by it. “The Symbol Remains” is said to be one of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT’s most spirited, diverse and inspired releases to date.
As the saying goes, “good things come to those who wait,” and the 14 new songs on display here embody that. Fans will be delighted with an extremely inspired album which ultimately sounds like a band looking back at their storied catalog and giving the fans a bit of everything they’ve ever loved about BÖC, while simultaneously continuing to evolve.
For over four decades, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. Indeed, the Long Island, New York‐based band is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. BLUE ÖYSTER CULT occupies a unique place in rock history because it’s one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success. Now they have partnered up with Frontiers Music Srl to continue their amazing journey.
BÖC is often cited as a major influence by other acts such as METALLICA, and BÖC was listed in VH1’s countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.
Upon the release of BÖC’s self-titled debut album in 1972, the band was praised for its catchy-yet-heavy music and lyrics that could be provocative, terrifying, funny or ambiguous, often all in the same song. BÖC’s canon contains three stone‐cold classic songs that will waft through the cosmos long after the sun has burned out: the truly haunting “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” from 1976’s “Agents Of Fortune”, the pummeling “Godzilla” from 1977’s “Spectres” and the hypnotically melodic “Burnin’ for You” from 1981’s “Fire Of Unknown Origin”. Other notable BÖC songs include “Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll”, “Then Came The Last Days Of May”, “I Love The Night”, “In Thee”, “Veteran Of The Psychic Wars”, “Dominance And Submission”, “Astronomy”, “Black Blade” and “Shooting Shark”.
The intense creative vision of BÖC’s original core duo of vocalist/lead guitarist Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom are complemented by Richie Castellano on guitar and keyboards, and the longtime rhythm section of bass guitarist Danny Miranda, and drummer Jules Radino.

LAMB OF GOD’s JOHN CAMPBELL Says ‘There Needs To Be A Vaccine’ Before He Will ‘Feel Comfortable’ Performing Live Again
LAMB OF GOD bassist John Campbell spoke to the “Iron City Rocks” podcast about how he is dealing with the coronavirus crisis and what the touring circuit might look like post-pandemic. Asked when thinks LAMB OF GOD will be able to return to the road, he said: “Let me first just say I’m one dude, but for me to feel comfortable to have people gather by the thousands for us to perform, there needs to be a vaccine. We can’t put people in danger, we can’t continue to spread [the virus].
“It seems to me very simple how to handle this, but it doesn’t seem that we, as humans, are really doing that,” he added.
Regarding what he has been doing to “stay sane” amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Campbell said: “I find myself getting stressed out quite a bit, and what I try to do is change what I’m focusing on and do some physical exertion. As a matter of fact, I just was getting very frustrated and I stopped what I was doing and did some push-ups and kind of tidied up my place a little bit, just to get my mind away from it and to get out of that moment and to not attach to that negativity.”
LAMB OF GOD’s self-titled album was released on June 19 via Epic Records in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. The follow-up to 2015’s “VII: Sturm Und Drang” marks the band’s first recordings with Art Cruz, who joined LOG last year as the replacement for the group’s founding drummer, Chris Adler.

SABATON Releases Official Music Video For ‘Devil Dogs’
Swedish heavy metal heroes SABATON have released the official lyric video for the song “Devil Dogs”. The track is taken from the band’s ninth full-length album, “The Great War”, which came out in July 2019 via Nuclear Blast Records. The band’s 20th-anniversary record is a concept effort covering stories from the First World War.
SABATON stated about the “Devil Dogs” clip: “On this day, in 1918, the Battle of Belleau Wood ended. Though unconfirmed, it has been widely accepted the U.S. Marine Corps’ nickname, the ‘Devil Dogs’, originated from the Germans at the Battle of Belleau Wood for the Marine’s relentless tenacity as vigorous shock troops and remarkable marksmen.”
SABATON started recording “The Great War” exactly 100 years after the end of the First World War (November 11, 1918) and took three months of intensive work to complete the album with longtime producer and collaborator Jonas Kjellgren at Black Lounge studios. The disc was mastered by Maor Appelbaum and the artwork was once again created by Peter Sallaí.
“This is not the first time we sing about stories from this period in time, but now we felt the timing was right to make a full concept album about this war,” the band said.
SABATON’s latest disc is the group’s first with guitarist Tommy Johansson (GOLDEN RESURRECTION, REINXEED), who replaced Thobbe Englund in 2016.

JANE’S ADDICTION’s PERRY FARRELL: DONALD TRUMP ‘Has Done More Damage To Evangelical Religion Than Any Other President’
Perry Farrell says that Donald Trump has done more damage to evangelical religion than any other president.
Earlier today, the JANE’S ADDICTION frontman took to his Twitter to share a Church Leaders article headlined “7 Startling Facts: An Up Close Look at Church Attendance in America”, and he included the following message: “Our President is running on a platform of religion. He’s Done More (Damage) to Evangelical religion than any other president. Read and weep.”
Perry added in a separate tweet: “I did a study this morning to find Evangelical church attendance numbers exceedingly receding. The President’s claims he’s done more for religion than any other president. True. I doubt he’s aware that he’s actually Turned Off Their Youth. Time for new leadership. God is loving..”
Trump reportedly won 81% of white evangelical Protestant voters in the 2016 presidential election.
White evangelical Christians make up a major portion of the U.S. electorate, roughly one quarter of all voters in 2016.
In a 2017 interview with Forbes, Farrell slammed Trump, saying that the billionaire real estate mogul “does not seem to really care about people that are outside of his immediate family or income bracket. I’m starting to make some money in my lifetime and I look at this guy who’s our president and I just see the way that he behaves towards people that are less fortunate and I think he’s doing it all wrong,” he said. “I think that when you make money, you have a moral obligation to give back to the people that need you. I try and figure out why he is the way he is, and you know what I conclude, he lacks certain degree of empathy because he grew up always surrounded and protected and he never had to fight and struggle. So he doesn’t understand the feelings of those who have to fight and struggle to survive and for the children to survive. He’s never had to go through that, so he has no empathy for it.”

Listen To Audio Snippets Of Three New STATIC-X Songs
Audio samples of three new songs from STATIC-X, “Regeneration”, “Worth Dyin’ For” and “Terminator Oscillator”, can be streamed below. All three cuts will appear on STATIC-X’s upcoming album, “Project Regeneration Vol. 1”, which will be released on July 10. The effort can now be pre-ordered digitally on iTunes and Amazon, and fans will receive immediate downloads of the songs “Hollow” and “All These Years”. Limited-edition marble vinyl, physical CDs and digital copies can be pre-ordered online at this location, with immediate download of both tracks as well.
The first of two volumes, “Project Regeneration Vol. 1” features 12 brand new tracks, containing many of the final vocal performances and musical compositions of late STATIC-X frontman Wayne Static, along with the original “Wisconsin Death Trip” lineup of bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay, and guitarist Koichi Fukuda. Both volumes are being worked on by longtime STATIC-X producer Ulrich Wild.
“Project Regeneration Vol. 1” track listing:
01. Regeneration
02. Hollow (Project Regeneration)
03. Worth Dyin’ For
04. Terminator Oscillator
05. All These Years
06. Accelerate
07. Bring You Down (Project Regeneration)
08. My Destruction
09. Something Of My Own (Project Regeneration)
10. Otsego Placebo
11. Follow
12. Dead Souls
In total, “Project Regeneration” volumes one and two will consist of more than 20 brand new or previously unreleased STATIC-X songs and will feature all of the remaining works left behind by Wayne Static, along with the original “Wisconsin Death Trip” band lineup. The individual albums are expected to contain creative packaging elements that will allow fans to marry the two volumes together.
Last year, STATIC-X wrapped up a world tour comprised of nearly 100 mostly sold-out dates in celebration of the 20th anniversary of its platinum-selling debut album “Wisconsin Death Trip”. The shows also served as a traveling memorial for Wayne, who passed away more than five years ago.
While the identity of STATIC-X’s touring singer Xer0 has not been officially revealed, strong rumors suggest that DOPE frontman Edsel Dope is the one performing with Jay, Fukuda and Campos and appearing in all of STATIC-X’s promotional videos.
Static died after mixing Xanax and other powerful prescription drugs with alcohol, according to the coroner’s report. The 48-year-old Static, whose real name was Wayne Richard Wells, was found dead in his Landers, California home on November 1, 2014.
Static founded STATIC-X in 1994 and achieved commercial success with “Wisconsin Death Trip”, which included the rock radio hit “Push It”.
The group issued five more studio albums before disbanding permanently in June 2013. Static had been pursuing a solo career at the time of his death.

GUNS N’ ROSES Drummer FRANK FERRER’s PSSR Unleashes ‘Busted’ And ‘Push’ Singles
PSSR, the New York-based rock outfit featuring GUNS N’ ROSES drummer Frank Ferrer, has released two singles, “Busted” and “Push”, with a third, “Last Time”, set to drop in late July.
PSSR is fronted by the charismatic Eric Jakobssen on vocals and guitar, and is rounded out by steady rocking bassist Brett Bass (Greg Allman) and journeyman lead guitarist/producer Rob Bailey (everyone from Delta Goodrem to David Johansen).
“Busted” features Ferrer’s GUNS N’ ROSES bandmate Richard Fortus on guitar and introduces the band with tough defiant lyrics and vocals over a gritty NYC rock backdrop.
Says Jakobssen: “‘Busted’ is one of those songs that covers a little social commentary about game players that perhaps don’t really play fair or at least don’t consider the consequence of some of their actions; women, drugs, police, lies? A little self-awareness could keep you out of trouble. Because in the end all we have is are self to blame if things go wrong and our self to credit when it goes right!”
“Push” is also a track that encompasses what we all love about rock ‘n’ roll. Crunchy guitars, addictive hooks and of course, that New York City swagger.
Bailey stated about “Push”: “A funky song about a funky topic. This is a story about a guy who was getting it from two sides. A pushy pusher and a pushy partner both add up to a waste of time.”
Ferrer joined GUNS N’ ROSES in 2006 as a temporary fill-in for Bryan Mantia. Before he knew it, Ferrer was a permanent member of GN’R, contributing to five songs on the “Chinese Democracy” album.
