THE ROLLING STONES Launch Limited-Edition Collaboration With TOMMY JEANS

THE ROLLING STONES have announced an exciting new collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger, Tommy Jeans. The “Tommy Revisited: Music Edition” collection combines the Tommy Jeans streetwear aesthetic with tour merchandise-inspired apparel, honoring musical legends that include legendary rock band THE ROLLING STONES.

From the start, music has played a crucial role in the life and work of designer Tommy Hilfiger as well as in the brand DNA of Tommy Jeans, and THE ROLLING STONES were one of the first bands Hilfiger fell in love with. The collection celebrates the iconic 1999 Rolling Stones X Tommy Hilfiger “No Security” tour merchandise with a Tommy Jeans streetwear twist.

Launching at the global flagship store, RS No.9 Carnaby, at 9 Carnaby Street and online at carnaby.therollingstonesshop.co.uk on Friday, November 12, the collection consists of six styles of tees and sweatshirts in strong, bold colorways. All products feature the iconic ROLLING STONES tongue-and lips logo and are available in both unisex and female sizing, and made from organic cotton.

Three limited-edition standout pieces from the collaboration have been produced exclusively for sale only at the global flagship store RS No.9 Carnaby, including a printed black tee, denim jacket and long-sleeve sweat both embroidered all over with THE ROLLING STONES logo. These three exclusive pieces will sit alongside the wider collection in-store.

All items will be available to purchase in store at RS No.9 Carnaby from Friday, November 12. Prices range from £40 to £140.

THE ROLLING STONES opened their world-first flagship store in September 2020, RS No. 9 Carnaby at 9 Carnaby Street in London’s Soho. The store, created in partnership with Bravado, Universal Music Group’s merchandise and brand management company, features all of the hallmarks of the iconic band and includes exclusive new fashion label RS No. 9 Carnaby.

Jointly curated by THE ROLLING STONES and Bravado, the shop fit follows the brand colors of red and black. The glass floor features many of the band’s lyrics, and the fitting rooms are adorned with iconic album artwork, “Exile On Main Street” (1972) and “Some Girls” (1978). Inside, there is an exclusive and curated mix of collections and collaborations for fans of all ages.

Sound, vision and lighting are key store components. Five 90-inch portrait screens display a film made exclusively for the store showing footage across the rich history of the band. Speakers from high-end British audio brand Bowers & Wilkins play tracks from the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world.

UFO: 'A Visual Biography' Due In February

Wymer Publishing has announced the launch of “UFO: A Visual Biography”, due for release on February 25.

This A4 224-page hardback coffee table book by esteemed author Martin Popoff is crammed full of memorabilia, including backstage passes, gig posters, media adverts and much more.

Following on from the success of his two previous UFO books, Popoff takes us on a visual journey through the bands entire career from 1968. Despite lead singer Phil Mogg saying he would retire, the band continues to tour with plans for 2022 in the pipeline.

A glorious pictorial celebration of the band’s full career, this visual biography timeline acts as a reference book, including the side projects, and documents the parallel career paths of UFO and Michael Schenker since 1980, along with WAYSTED. It covers it all in one mighty tome crammed full of stunning visuals including many previously unpublished photos.

UFO recently announced that it will embark on its final tour featuring a series of exclusive concerts in summer 2022 to bid farewell to its fans in style. At the grand finale of an unprecedented success story, which began in 1969 and has spanned more than five decades, the band has announced a number of real highlights: The first one is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Beatbox in Hannover, where UFO is planning a public rehearsal, with a strictly limited number of only 80 tickets available. One day later, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, the band will perform a private open-air concert in front of an audience of 300, presenting the full set-list of the subsequent tour, and coming into exceptionally close contact with their fans. UFO will then play the very last concert of its long career on October 29, 2022 in Athens, Greece, where the band performed its first show featuring current guitarist Vinnie Moore in February 2004.

Mogg is anticipating this very special farewell show with mixed feelings, while also very much looking forward to UFO once again meeting their extensive fan base between summer and autumn 2022.

Mogg, who turned 73 in April, said: “After so many years with countless highlights, fantastic experiences and lots of beautiful memories — as well as some difficult moments, naturally — it’ll be a worthy finale to say goodbye to your fans in person. I know that there are bound to be some very emotional moments on both sides.”

In his original statement announcing UFO’s final tour, Mogg said the decision was “a long time coming,” adding that while “being out on the road isn’t always tremendously luxurious and although the playing is as great as it ever was, the stuff that surrounds it becomes very tiresome. I always told myself that when I reached that stage, I would step down, and that’s what I’m going to do. This is the right time for me to quit.”

UFO’s latest release was the 2017 covers collection “The Salentino Cuts”.

NORTHLANE Announces New Album 'Obsidian', Shares Video For New Song 'Echo Chamber'

Australia’s heavy trailblazers NORTHLANE have revealed their daring new single, “Echo Chamber”, lifted from their forthcoming sixth album, “Obsidian”, set for release on April 1, 2022 via Believe.

A bold expansion of the ever-evolving NORTHLANE sound, “Echo Chamber” is a fully immersive futuristic Matrix rave built around a compulsive beat that marries their signature bottom-heavy groove with dark electronic and techno. Lyrically, “Echo Chamber” looks at the toxic polarization of social media, landing at a timely moment in history with whistleblowers confirming algorithms are deliberately amplifying angry content that is tearing societies apart in the name of engagement. “Echo Chamber” is a critical reminder to log off.

“It’s hard to be on the Internet without seeing people get continuously angry about something,” says frontman Marcus Bridge. “We’re addicted to having a hot take about nothing and it’s quite exhausting. At the same time, I shouldn’t let it bother me that much but it’s like a ringing in my ears after a while, so I’m praying I go deaf.”

If you had to sum up NORTHLANE in a word, it would be resilient. In its 12-year career, the four-piece has weathered the kind of storms that would have seen most other bands bow out of the game, yet, through every bout of turbulence, NORTHLANE emerges on the other side with fortitude and a trailblazing body of work that shifts the tectonic plates of heavy music around the globe.

Emboldened by the success of NORTHLANE’s 2019 award-winning album “Alien”, “Obsidian” is their most expansive and dynamic album yet. Self-recorded and self-produced with the help of their longtime collaborator Chris Blancato, the sound NORTHLANE have been working towards over the span of their career has been fully realized on “Obsidian”. Sonically spanning the gamut of their entire discography, NORTHLANE’s trademark heavy comfortably coexists with techno, drum and bass, intriguing synths, perplexing time signatures and widescreen choruses. It’s this fearless evolution that keeps NORTHLANE light years ahead of everyone else in heavy music.

Earlier this year, NORTHLANE gave us a preview of the album via “Clockwork”, a frantic and pulsating fever dream that served as an insight into the mind of a musician forced to be creative after a devastating year and the toll it took on him. Throughout “Obsidian”, Bridge chronicles his despair at the state of the world whilst also trying to pick up the pieces and move forward with his own life after sharing his harrowing life story on “Alien”. It’s bleak, but that’s the point.

The release of “Obsidian” will mark an important milestone for NORTHLANE as the band’s first independently released record. Forging ahead as a wholly independent entity, NORTHLANE has shunned machinations of the music industry to take complete control of its career. They recently took another step forward by launching their Worldeaters Patreon, with the top tier selling out in just 24 hours.

“Obsidian” track listing:

01. Clarity
02. Clockwork
03. Echo Chamber
04. Carbonized
05. Abomination
06. Plenty
07. Is This A Test?
08. Xen
09. Cypher
10. Nova
11. Inamorata
12. Obsidian
13. Dark Solitaire

“Alien” debuted at No. 3 on the ARIA album chart and #6 on the Billboard Heatseekers Album chart. The record also scored NORTHLANE its third ARIA Award for “Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album” as well as the AIR Award for Best Independent Heavy Album.

KISS's GENE SIMMONS To Appear On TalkShopLive For 45th-Anniversary Edition Of 'Destroyer'

Gene Simmons will participate in a live interview on the livestreaming social selling online network TalkShopLive to promote deluxe versions of the band’s 45th anniversary edition of “Destroyer”. The KISS bassist and co-vocalist will go live on talkshop.live on November 10 at 7 p.m. Eastern. Fans who watch the candid, exclusive interview can purchase the album as well as a holiday-themed T-shirt during the conversation and ask questions via the platform’s interactive text chat feature. Simmons will be interviewed by Steve Harkins live on TalkShopLive’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Channel. Fans can start following the channel and buy here.

Celebrating its 45 anniversary, “Destroyer” was originally released in 1976 and is considered to be one of the quintessential KISS albums. It is the band’s first album to sell one million copies in its first year and holds the title of being their all-time best-selling studio album. Packed with concert staples and KISS Army favorites, including “Detroit Rock City”, “Shout It Out Loud”, “God Of Thunder” and “Beth”, on November 19, 2021 UMe will release “KISS – Destroyer 45th” in the form of a Super Deluxe 4-CD + Blu-ray audio box set as well as on standard double black vinyl and limited edition yellow and red double colored vinyl, 2-CD set and digital.

For the recording of “Destroyer”, Bob Ezrin was brought in as KISS’s new producer, helping the band reach new levels, both sonically and creatively. The album also showed the band’s growth as musicians and songwriters, experimenting with new sounds which came in the form of the softer side of songs like “Do You Love Me?” , and songs heavy with orchestral arrangements including “Great Expectations” and “Beth”. Following the breakthrough success of 1975’s No. 9 Billboard-charting “Alive!”, “Destroyer” was the KISS album that brought them to the forefront of the mainstream and transformed them into global rock icons. For its anniversary, UMe celebrates this seminal album’s legacy with a staggering amount of bonus material.

CD 1 includes the original album newly remastered at Abbey Road Mastering, while CD 2 features 15 demos from Paul Stanley’s and Gene Simmons’s personal archives — nine of which were previously unreleased. CD 3 is packed with studio outtakes, alternate versions / mixes and single edits — most notably a brand-new stripped-down mix for “Beth (Acoustic Mix)”, and CD 4 contains an electrifying performance from the band’s visit to Paris France at the L’Olympia on May 22, 1976. For the Blu-ray audio disc, Steven Wilson was brought in to create a first-ever Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround mix of the original studio album plus two bonus tracks, “Beth (Acoustic Mix)” and “Sweet Pain (Original Guitar Solo)”, the latter featuring Ace Frehley’s original recorded guitar solo that was not released on the studio album (this track is available on the 2012 “Destroyer: Resurrected” project).

Additionally, the Super Deluxe box features an extravagant array of collectable KISS memorabilia and ephemera, including a complete recreation of the original KISS Army Kit with the original folder and following items:

* KISS Army newsletter Volume 1 – No 2 announcing “Destroyer”
* 2x 8″x10″ “Destroyer” Press Photos

GLENN HUGHES Wanted To Be 'Very Honest' In His Autobiography: 'There's Nothing In The Book That's Not Real'

Legendary bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes, who has been clean and sober for more than two decades, wrote about his path to sobriety in his autobiography, titled “Deep Purple And Beyond: Scenes From The Life Of A Rock Star”, which came out in 2011. In a new interview with Brazil’s “Lokaos Rock Show”, Hughes said that he wanted to recount his adventures and misadventures with honesty and without glossing over the darker moments of his life.

“When I wrote the book, my publisher asked me is there anything I’m keeping a secret,” he said. “[And I thought] maybe I need to go deeper and tell everything. So I had to really go deeper and be very, very, very honest. So for me to tell you the truth — which there has to be the truth in everything we do — and to tell you about the things I didn’t do great; not just the things I did great and how great it was, but there was some dark stuff. I had to die to come back. So when I was very honest with myself in the book, it was really a great opportunity to me to tell you about making my amends to people. Even if people are dead, I had to make amends to them too, ’cause they were really close friends to me. But there’s nothing in the book that’s not real; I had to be very honest.”

Hughes admitted that “it was painful” being so highly personal in his book, “but I had to tell the truth. Sometimes it’s not pretty to tell people the real truth,” he explained. “My book — it needs to be told. So I wanted to make sure that everything is exactly the way it was. It’s not pretty — some things in life are not pretty. But you’ve gotta face it. You have to tell what is the real deal.”

Hughes made his live debut with THE DEAD DAISIES in June in Boca Raton, Florida. He is joined in the band’s current lineup includes Doug Aldrich (DIO, WHITESNAKE) on guitar, Tommy Clufetos (BLACK SABBATH, OZZY OSBOURNE) on drums and David Lowy (RED PHOENIX, MINK) on guitar.

THE DEAD DAISIES’ latest album, “Holy Ground”, was released in January. Recorded at La Fabrique Studios in the south of France with producer Ben Grosse, the LP is the band’s first to feature Hughes, who joined the group in 2019 as its new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY).

POISON Singer BRET MICHAELS Honors Veterans On 'Monday Night Football': Photos, Video

Pittsburgh native, POISON frontman and son of a veteran Bret Michaels joined Steelers alum and Vietnam veteran Rocky Bleier to honor active duty service members and veterans during the Steelers Salute To Service game against the Chicago Bears on “Monday Night Football” on Monday, November 8.

Michaels and the Steelers participated in the Salute To Service game, an annual NFL initiative which honors our nation’s service members, veterans, and their families. Prior to the game, Michaels, Bleier and the Steelers fan of the year, army veteran Nelson E. Lowes conducted the legendary Terrible Towel twirl. The Steelers and Bleier also honored Michaels’s late father, veteran Wally Sychak, with a dedication and donation to American Legion hall.

Michaels stated: “I could not be more honored to be on ‘Monday Night Football’ at Heinz field standing by Rocky Bleier and Nelson Lowes, saluting our veterans and service members around the globe.”

Coming from a military family, Michaels is dedicated to honoring service members every day. He has made a nightly ritual out of inviting service members and first responders to be recognized on stage during his performances. He also meets with active duty service members and veterans before his shows and at military events such as the Military Child Of The Year event.

Bret was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on March 15, 1963. Rising to fame as the frontman of POISON, one of rock’s most iconic and enduring bands, he helped define rock ‘n’ roll on the Sunset Strip. POISON’s massive success includes selling over 30 million records worldwide and numerous hit singles. Bret’s solo career has charted its own course with multiple solo albums. His “Custom Built” album included guest appearances by Joe Perry (AEROSMITH) Loretta Lynn, Jimmy Buffett, Ace Frehley (KISS), Michael Anthony (VAN HALEN) and members of LYNYRD SKYNYRD.

POISON’s “The Stadium Tour” with MÖTLEY CRÜE, DEF LEPPARD and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS was originally scheduled to take place last summer but ended up being pushed back to 2021, and then to 2022, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Watch GEORGE LYNCH Rejoin DOKKEN On Stage In Waukegan, Illinois

George Lynch rejoined DOKKEN on stage on October 30 at Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, Illinois to perform three of the band’s classic songs. Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

Lynch previously performed with DOKKEN in July in Ashland, Virginia and in Moline, Illinois as well as in early June at the Live United Live Music Festival in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

This past March, Lynch was asked in an interview with Jeff Gaudiosi of MisplacedStraws.com if there has been any talk of more shows featuring the reunited classic lineup of DOKKEN. He responded: “I’ve actually been talking to Don [Dokken] a little bit, and we’re both in agreement that that should probably happen — meaning some kind of a meaningful reunion done in the right way, carefully and with proper preparation and time and rehearsals and not just throwing it out there like we did last time.” George went on to say that “the obvious choice” to replace DOKKEN’s recently retired drummer “Wild” Mick Brown would be Mick’s brother Steve, who can be heard playing alongside Lynch and ex-DOKKEN bassist Jeff Pilson on the latest THE END MACHINE album, “Phase2”.

In a separate interview with Alamo True Metal, Lynch reflected on the last time DOKKEN’s classic lineup — Dokken, Lynch, Pilson and Mick Brown — reunited for a short Japanese tour in the fall of 2016. The trek marked the first time in 21 years the four musicians had hit the road together.

“I think I was slightly disappointed in it — not overwhelmingly disappointed, but I have some regrets,” he said. “I wish we had prepared more. And I know we all feel that way. ‘Cause of the logistics, we all had things we had to do right after the time we had allotted and beforehand. So we just were barely able to even pull it off with everybody else’s pre-existing commitments. The fact that we got to do it at all was… you know, we were fortunate for even being able to pull it off. So we were a little underprepared, I feel. And yes, we were offered a good amount of money to go to Japan and do some other things, so it made it just kind of a no-brainer.”

A DOKKEN concert DVD focusing on the band’s reunion tour, “Return To The East Live (2016)”, was made available in 2018. In addition to the Japanese performance, the set included footage from the classic lineup’s only U.S. show in September 2016 at Badlands in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as well as newly recorded acoustic reworkings of “Heaven Sent” and “Will The Sun Rise”. Also featured on “Return To The East Live (2016)” was “It’s Just Another Day”, the first DOKKEN track featuring the group’s classic lineup since 1997’s “Shadowlife”.

Since completing the Japanese reunion dates, DOKKEN has continued to perform with the group’s current lineup — including bassist Chris McCarvill, guitarist Jon Levin and drummer BJ Zampa (HOUSE OF LORDS).

DOKKEN is currently working on material on a new studio album, tentatively due next year via Silver Lining Music, the label owned by Thomas Jensen, one of the founders of Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival. It will mark the group’s first disc since 2012’s “Broken Bones”.

Over the past four years, Lynch has appeared on recordings by THE END MACHINE, KXM, ULTRAPHONIX and SWEET & LYNCH. He released his first-ever full-length instrumental album, “Seamless”, in August via Rat Pak Records.
