RUSH drummer Neil Peart died on January 7, 2020 in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He was 67 years old.

RUSH announced Peart’s passing three days later, setting off shockwaves and an outpouring of grief from fans and musicians all over the world.

RUSH’s final show took place at the Forum in Los Angeles on August 1, 2015. Peart indicated at the time that he wanted to retire while he was still able to play well, along with a desire to spend more time at home with his young daughter.

Peart joined RUSH in 1974. He was considered one of the best rock drummers of all time, alongside John Bonham of LED ZEPPELIN; Keith Moon of THE WHO; and Ginger Baker of CREAM. Peart was also RUSH’s primary lyricist, drawing inspiration from everything from sci-fi to Ayn Rand.

PHIL SOUSSAN Tries To 'Channel JIMMY BAIN' While Performing DIO Songs With LAST IN LINE

While filming a new video message on Cameo, renowned bassist Phil Soussan (ex-OZZY OSBOURNE) spoke about what it has been like joining LAST IN LINE in 2016 following the passing of the band’s original bassist Jimmy Bain. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Jimmy was a really good friend of mine. It’s almost ironic that I end up playing in LAST IN LINE and kind of covering for him in a way. I’m paying tribute to his songs. I try to channel Jimmy on the DIO songs that we play, try to do what he does, and also I try to imagine what he would do on the other material while still being able to do it within my own wheelhouse. It’s tough. You wanna put your own spin on things but you also want to pay tribute to the pre-existing DNA of the original DIO band. So I think that’s what I try to do.”

Formed in 2012 by Bain, drummer Vinny Appice and guitarist Vivian Campbell — Ronnie James Dio’s co-conspirators and co-writers on the “Holy Diver”, “Last In Line” and “Sacred Heart” albums — LAST IN LINE’s initial intent was to celebrate Ronnie James Dio’s early work by reuniting the members of the original DIO lineup. After playing shows that featured a setlist composed exclusively of material from the first three DIO albums, the band decided to move forward and create new music in a similar vein.

LAST IN LINE’s debut album, “Heavy Crown”, was released in February 2016, landing at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Initially, the release had been preceded by tragedy when Bain unexpectedly died at the age of 68 on January 23, 2016. LAST IN LINE, honoring what they knew would be Bain’s wish to keep the band moving, brought in Soussan and committed to sustained touring in support of the album before beginning work on the follow-up release, 2019’s “II”.

This past June, Soussan spoke to Metal-Net.com about the progress of the writing and recording sessions for LAST IN LINE’s third album. The LP is tentatively due in 2022 via an as-yet-undisclosed record label.

“I’ve been quite motivational with the band,” Phil said. “I’m trying to keep things happening. We wanted to work on a few different aspects [during the pandemic]. And we also had to go about getting a new record deal — we were changing labels — so that’s something we’re in the process of doing, and we’re getting pretty close now. But part of that was writing a third record. So we’ve been hard at work trying to write a third record and even record that third record while we’ve been in different locations around the world. And, obviously, this band works as a unit in every sense of the word, so it’s a real handicap not being able to be in the same room as everybody and trying to make it happen.”

In February, Appice told Metal From The Inside that former DOKKEN and current FOREIGNER bassist Jeff Pilson, who produced both “II” and “Heavy Crown”, is not involved with the upcoming LAST IN LINE album. “We made a change,” he said. “Actually, the guy who mixed the last record, Chris Collier — he’s great; he’s working with KORN — he recorded this record. And we’re kind of producing it ourselves, between all of us.

“Jeff is great — Jeff’s a great producer, and [he has] great ideas and stuff, but we just felt that we could probably do what we wanna do now that we’re a band, we’ve been on the road, and we know what we wanna hear,” he explained. “But it’s coming out great. The stuff sounds fantastic.

“And yeah, I’ve been through a lot with Jeff Pilson. I’ve known him for years. He’s a great guy. He’s like my brother.”

Also in February, Soussan told the “Pat’s Soundbytes Unplugged” podcast about the musical direction of the new LAST IN LINE material: “The songs are another progression from the last album — the difference between ‘Heavy Crown’ and ‘II’, and now ‘II’ and whatever this next album is gonna be called; we don’t know yet, by the way. But it’s definitely evolved even more; it’s gone into even more of an evolution, but we are always trying to keep the characteristics of LAST IN LINE there. I mean, you can’t shake those things — you can’t shake Vinny’s drumming, you can’t shake Vivian’s playing. And I’d like to say the same thing about myself, and, of course, Andrew.”

Some of the early recording sessions for LAST IN LINE’s third album took place in January 2020 at Steakhouse studio in North Hollywood, California.

DINO CAZARES: 'I Look Forward To A Different Chapter Of FEAR FACTORY'

FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares, who has yet to publicly reveal the identity of the band’s replacement for Burton C. Bell, spoke about the singer change in a recent interview with El Lado Oscuro. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “The future is gonna be definitely very challenging for sure. Everything is — life is. Every day we wake up can be a new challenge. But it’s how we take on those challenges. And for me, it’s been very positive.

“I’ve had a lot of people around the world contact me regarding the position of singing for FEAR FACTORY, and I look forward to it,” he continued. “I look forward to where this new person can take us — to a different chapter of FEAR FACTORY.”

Regarding what he was looking for in Bell’s replacement, Cazares said: “I don’t want to get somebody who can’t necessarily represent the past; I want somebody who can do that. But I also want this person to have his own identity moving forward in the future — just as when we have to step into the past that he’s able to handle that as well as what we create moving forward.”

FEAR FACTORY will release the first song featuring the band’s new lead singer prior to the group’s North American tour with STATIC-X. The 37-date “Rise Of The Machine” run, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on February 21 in Portland, Oregon and run over five weeks, wrapping up on April 3 in San Francisco, California.

Cazares told This Day In Metal about his decision to showcase FF’s new frontman with a new song: “I really want people to hear it and judge it by when they hear it. Because if I announce who it is right now, then it’s gonna be, like, everybody is gonna give their opinion before they even hear anything. So I’d rather people give their opinion of when they hear it than before they hear it.”

This past August, Dino told Bucketlist TV that FEAR FACTORY’s new frontman has experience and is “kind of known” within the metal scene.

Asked about his previous comment that he was open to hiring a female vocalist for FEAR FACTORY, Dino told Bucketlist TV: “That was true. I auditioned a few women, yes. But it didn’t work out — not because they were female or anything like that. Because I wanted to pick whoever was best for the position, and it turned out to be a guy.”

Dino also addressed his statement from earlier this year that he wanted to give an “unknown guy a shot” at fronting FEAR FACTORY. He said: “Well, it wasn’t like I was only looking for somebody that nobody knew. I was looking for all different [types of singers]. Sure, if the guy turned out to be, or the girl turned out to be, someone that nobody knew and I gave ’em that shot, yeah, great. I was open to all of it, is what I’m saying. Male, female, whatever, known, unknown — I was open to all of that. And it turned out to be somebody who is kind of known, I guess. Kind of known. He does have experience.”

In September 2020, Bell issued a statement officially announcing his departure from FEAR FACTORY, saying that he “cannot align” himself with someone whom he does not trust or respect.

Bell’s exit from FEAR FACTORY came more than two weeks after Cazares launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist him with the production costs associated with the release of FEAR FACTORY’s new LP.

Bell later told Kerrang! magazine that his split with FEAR FACTORY was a long time coming. “It’s been on my mind for a while,” he said. “These lawsuits [over the rights to the FEAR FACTORY name] just drained me. The egos. The greed. Not just from bandmembers, but from the attorneys involved. I just lost my love for it.

“With FEAR FACTORY, it’s just constantly been, like, ‘What?!’ You can only take so much. I felt like 30 years was a good run. Those albums I’ve done with FEAR FACTORY will always be out there. I’ll always be part of that. I just felt like it was time to move forward.”

In October 2020, Dino issued a statement in which he said that the door for Burton to come back to FEAR FACTORY wouldn’t “stay open forever.” The guitarist also revealed that Burton “lost his legal rights” to the FEAR FACTORY name “after a long court battle” with drummer Raymond Herrera and bassist Christian Olde Wolbers. “I had the opportunity to do something right, and I felt that obtaining the name in full was the right thing to do for the both of us, so after nearly four years we can continue as FEAR FACTORY, to make more records and to tour,” he said. “That is why it is sad to hear that he decided to quit and, in my opinion, for whatever issues he has it seems like it could’ve been worked out.”

FEAR FACTORY’s new album, “Aggression Continuum”, was released in June via Nuclear Blast Records. The LP, which was recorded primarily in 2017, features Cazares and Bell alongside drummer Mike Heller. It was produced and engineered by Damien Rainaud (DRAGONFORCE, ONCE HUMAN), with keyboards by Igor Khoroshev (ex-YES), and programming on two songs from longtime collaborator Rhys Fulber (FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY). “Aggression Continuum” was mixed by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TRIVIUM), who also mixed FEAR FACTORY’s previous album, 2015’s “Genexus”.

ROB HALFORD: 'There Should Be A Book Of LEMMY Quotes, Because He Never Held Back'

To celebrate the life and times of MÖTÖRHEAD’s iconic leader Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister, who passed away exactly six years ago — on December 28, 2015 — Revolver recently reached out to musicians who knew and/or admired him, including his old friend Rob Halford of JUDAS PRIEST. Speaking about his relationship with Lemmy, Rob said: “On a friendship level, I was always a little bit in awe of Lemmy because he was — and still is — this larger-than-life persona. When you talk to anybody about Lemmy, you see this mental picture in your head — the guy in the cowboy boots and the jeans and the bullet belt and the leather jacket and the mustache. His physical characteristics are really, really pronounced, so you’ve got all that wrapped up in his persona, as well.”

Halford went on to say that people admired Lemmy as much for his attitude as they did for his music. “There should be a book of Lemmy quotes, because he never held back,” Rob said. “That’s what I loved about him. He epitomized this great virtue in rock and roll, which is not only music but speaking your mind. He always had an opinion on any matter in life, and it was always Lemmy-esque. [Laughs] He had a very unique way of looking at the world because he was a very smart man. He was a total bookworm and he loved his war history and memorabilia. His very astute way of talking and thinking made him remarkable.”

Last month, Halford told the “SpeedFreaks” radio show that he was one of a number of Lemmy’s close personal friends and associates who received bullet casings filled with his ashes after his death as a personal gift. He said: “When Lemmy passed away, I had this beautiful opportunity to speak at his memorial. We had a great get-together; all of us musicians from all over the world, we met in Hollywood and we talked about Lemmy and his great life and the things that he’s left us. And then, not too far back, I get something in the mail from the Lemmy people; Lemmy’s office, his manager and everybody still work tirelessly to keep his name with us, as he always will be. They sent me — it’s a bullet [laughs], it’s a bullet with some of Lemmy’s ashes inside of it.”

He continued: “This is nuts. This is the kind of thing that Lemmy would have loved to have done. However you choose to interpret what I’ve just said, that’s entirely up to you. But to be thought of, to be brought into this small circle of friends where you actually own a little bit of Lemmy’s ashes and you wear it around your neck on a pendant and he’s close to your heart in the truest sense in terms of his mortal remains, that’s just mind-blowingly powerful. To use an object like that to carry his remains is just so Lemmy — it’s provocative, it makes you think, it makes you talk. But as far as having a beautiful part of Lemmy physically with me right now in my house, that’s just magical.”

Lemmy died at the age of 70 shortly after learning he had been diagnosed with cancer.

He had dealt with several health issues over the last few years of his life, including heart trouble, forcing him to cut back on his famous smoking habits.

MOTÖRHEAD had to cancel a number of shows in 2015 because of Lemmy’s poor health, although the band did manage to complete one final European tour a couple of weeks before his death.

In June 2020, it was announced that Lemmy will get the biopic treatment. The upcoming film, “Lemmy”, will be directed by Greg Olliver, who previously helmed the 2010 documentary of the same name, “Lemmy”.

“Lemmy” will follow Kilmister’s life growing up in Stoke-on-Trent, becoming a roadie for Jimi Hendrix and a member of seminal psychedelic rock band HAWKWIND before forming MOTÖRHEAD.

A custom-made urn containing Lemmy’s ashes is on permanent display in a columbarium at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood, California.

JOHN CORABI To RATT: 'Check Your Egos At The Door' And Get Classic Lineup Back Together

In a recent interview with Rock Show Critique, former MÖTLEY CRÜE singer John Corabi spoke about his nearly decade-long stint (2001-2008) as the rhythm guitarist in RATT. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET) “For the eight years that I was in the band, even when Jizzy [Pearl] was there [singing for the group], RATT was just constantly bickering and fighting within… Now, in the beginning, it was just Warren [DeMartini, guitar] and Bobby [Blotzer, drums]. Warren would say, ‘Bobby, you’re playing the songs too fast.’ And Bobby would go, ‘You’re playing ’em too slow.’ And they would go back and forth. And then meanwhile, our crew guy Craig and me, Robbie [Crane, then-bassist] and Jizzy would go get a sandwich, go home and make a Bundt cake and literally shave, shit and shower and then come back, and they’d still be arguing about the tempos of the songs. Well, then, six or seven years later, Stephen [Pearcy, RATT singer] comes into the mix, and it was still the same thing. Without sounding derogatory, it was always just a pissing contest between the original members.”

Corabi continued: “We did the last tour with Stephen. One of the last shows we did was at the House Of Blues in L.A. And we got offered a record deal. I flew back to Nashville, and I just had a — I don’t wanna say a panic attack, but I was just sitting there going, ‘Oh, shit. They want us to go somewhere for, like, three months and live together, write together and record together a new album.’ And personally, I just went, ‘These guys can’t get through a fucking rehearsal without wanting to kill each other. I can’t do this.’ So I called them on the phone. I go, ‘Yeah, I’m out.’ And they were shocked. They were, like, ‘Dude, we just got a record deal.’ And I’m, like, ‘Yeah, I know. I’m still out. Whatever.’ And as it turned out, they just bickered and fought with each other through the whole thing.”

John added: “I love Warren — separately. I love Bobby — separately. I love Stephen — separately. I even love Juan [Croucier, RATT bassist] separately. I know all of those guys. But until they realize that it’s not 1985 anymore or not 1987 anymore… The fans would like to see the original guys do their thing, go out and play the songs that everybody grew up listening to. And check your egos at the door, guys. It doesn’t matter. It’s not Stephen alone, it’s not Warren alone, it’s not Bobby alone, it’s not Juan alone — it’s RATT. Figure it out. Figure out how to make it work, just like MÖTLEY [CRÜE], and go out and do your thing. Fans would be nothing but happy if you could just put your differences aside and just go out on stage and play for an hour and a half, two hours a night and then go to the next city and do the same thing without flipping each other off behind the stage. Just make it work.

“I love those guys to death, but… I mean, look at them right now. Stephen’s, like, ‘All right. If we’re gonna do RATT, let’s do RATT. Let’s get the four guys in a room and make it happen. Let’s write a record, or do a record, and get out and tour as RATT.’ I’ve seen some interviews he’s done recently. And they just shoot themselves in the foot all the time. And it’s sad. But I just didn’t want any part of it. I can’t do it.”

Back in 2017, Corabi told the “Music Mania” podcast that he was less than pleased with Blotzer for reasons that he didn’t disclose. “Without getting into too much, whatever, I’m not real happy with Bobby Blotzer right now,” he said. “I did a gig with him, and him and I left the gig like… I walked in there… I just remember walking in, I bought him a drink at the bar, and then by the end of the night, we wanted to kill each other. So I’ll just leave it at that.”

Pearcy and Croucier are the sole remaining original members in RATT’s current lineup, which made its live debut in July 2018 in Mulvane, Kansas. Joining them in the band are drummer Pete Holmes (BLACK ‘N BLUE, RATT’S JUAN CROUCIER) and guitarists Jordan Ziff (RAZER) and Frankie Lindia.

RATT — featuring Pearcy, Croucier and DeMartini — played a number of shows in 2017 after reforming a year earlier in the midst of a highly publicized legal battle with Blotzer over the rights to the RATT name. They were joined at the gigs by guitarist Carlos Cavazo, who played on “Infestation”, and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, who previously played with Y&T, WHITE LION and MEGADETH, among others.

Agma – WOMBBATH

It may only be those who sleep with an HM-2 pedal under their pillow who noticed, but WOMBBATH delivered one of the all-time great comeback records with “Downfall Rising” in 2015. A mere six years later, the Swedish death metal veterans are delivering their fifth post-return full-length, and it is by far the most ambitious and adventurous record to ever bear the band’s name. Given that they released two albums in 2020 (“Choirs of the Fallen” and “Tales of Madness”), it seems that WOMBBATH have hit a rich vein of inspiration and are now going for broke, both in terms of quality and quantity. That rare beast, the death metal double album, “Agma” is no old-school nostalgia-fest, instead, this is what happens when a classic sound gets a giant, eyeball-dislodging kick up the arse.

If it’s unabashed ENTOMBED and DISMEMBER worship you want, then this may not be the record to sate your appetites. WOMBBATH certainly owe a huge debt to that seminal sound, and there is never any doubt that we are listening to punky and vicious Swedish death metal throughout these 73 destructive minutes. But the sheer versatility and variety on display here is genuinely breathtaking, as every song seems to represent another subtly skewed take on that cherished formula, with unexpected but always apposite curveballs raining down from all angles. “Agma” sounds considerably heavier and sharper than any previous WOMBBATH record, too. From the rampaging opening seconds of “The Law Of Everything” onwards, the authoritative weight behind these songs is obvious. Frontman Jonny Pettersson (also a member of MASSACRE, BERZERKER LEGION and countless other ongoing projects) has one of those archetypal, leathery death metal growls that always cuts through the noise, and founder/guitarist Håkan Stuvemark’s riffing is truly inventive; his songwriting chops, increasingly imperious.

There are 16 songs here, and not a weakling among them. On a first, increasingly breathless deep dive, obvious standouts include “At The Giant’s Feet”, which manages to be equally snotty and technically dazzling, and “The Age Of Death”, which weaves progressive textures and swathes of twilit macabre through WOMBBATH’s hulking battery. But this is an album that delivers many powerful moments and demands repeat listens, all while nobly adhering to a none-more-true death metal ethos. From the sinister, death doom machinations of “In Decay They Shall All Fester” to the skull-caving D-beats and blackened discord of “Inquisition Reborn”, this is a remarkable show of strength from a band with vastly more to say and do than the majority of their peers. Releasing it on New Year’s Eve is a slightly bizarre move, but music this great will even cut through a Christmas hangover.

Ex-FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Bassist MATT SNELL Joins KILL DEVIL HILL

In a new interview with Bass Musician Magazine, former FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH bassist Matt Snell discussed his involvement in KILL DEVIL HILL, the band that once featured former PANTERA bassist Rex Brown and legendary drummer Vinny Appice.

“We did a record during 2020. And it’s done,” he said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “There’s a couple of little tweaks left, so we’re working on the release plan for that. [Producer] Chris Collier actually did that record. He got a little bit busy doing the [new] KORN record, so we got put back for a couple of weeks, but he’s finishing it up right now. So the record is amazing; it sounds actually fantastic. I’m super excited about it.”

Regarding how he came to play bass for KILL DEVIL HILL, Matt said: “[KILL DEVIL HILL guitarist] Mark [Zavon] had reached out to me to play bass for him. And I’ve known [KILL DEVIL HILL singer] Dewey [Bragg] for 20-something years. We used to jam together in public storage back in the day, which is the same place… IN THIS MOMENT practiced there. We practiced there. DEADSETT, which became IN THIS MOMENT, and then FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, we were all this little village we had going on. So it was a no-brainer for me to join that band. It’s fun, and playing with Johnny Kelly is a blessing. He’s just a fantastic drummer. It’s that slower kind of sludgier rock for me, so [there are] huge, fat bass grooves that I get lay down instead of having to play fifty thousand notes a second. It’s a really fun vibe for me.”

Snell added: “I remember I was listening to an old DOWN record [while I] was driving to work, and I’m, like, ‘Man, I’d really like to be in a band like this.’ I guess that was something I put off to God, ’cause he gave it to me.”

Shortly after he left KILL DEVIL HILL in early 2014, Vinny said that the band’s inability to gain significant traction with its music was a major factor in his decision. However, more recently, Vinny has suggested that he exited the group because he “couldn’t deal with” the fact that some of his bandmates were consistently tardy for KILL DEVIL HILL activities by an hour and a half or even longer.

Vinny, who had previously played with BLACK SABBATH, DIO and HEAVEN & HELL, left KILL DEVIL HILL in March 2014. He has since been replaced by the aforementioned Johnny Kelly (DANZIG, TYPE O NEGATIVE).

KILL DEVIL HILL released its sophomore album, “Revolution Rise”, in October 2013 via Century Media Records.

Back in 2019, Zavon confirmed that KILL DEVIL HILL had recruited Nico D’Arnese to play bass following the departure of Brown.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH parted ways with Snell in December 2010 but didn’t announce his exit until April 2011. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory later told Gun Shy Assassin that Matt was fired, adding that the bassist “wasn’t a writing member,” ensuring that the band’s sound wouldn’t be affected.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH’s current bassist, Chris Kael, officially joined the band in June 2011.

PAUL STANLEY Blasts COVID-19 Anti-Vaxxers, Says Childhood Vaccines Require Four Or More Doses To Complete Immunization

Paul Stanley has pushed back against claims that having to take multiple doses of the COVID-19 vaccine is unusual or unprecedented.

The KISS frontman, who tested positive for COVID-19 in August, took to his Twitter on Monday (December 27) to point out that certain childhood vaccines that have been used for decades, like the diphtheria vaccine and the polio vaccine, require four or more doses to complete immunization.

He wrote: “Just Some Vaccine Information For Those Who Question The Current Validity Because Of The Amount Of Doses, FYI… POLIO-4 Doses; CHICKENPOX-2 Doses; SMALLPOX-4 Doses; MEASLES-2 Doses; DIPTHERIA/TETANUS/WHOOPING COUGH-5 Doses.

Stanley went on to say that he has been testing negative for COVID-19 despite the fact that he took to his Instagram on Sunday (December 26) to share a photo of what he called his “Omicron face” and to reveal that his “entire family” has contracted the highly contagious variant.

“I AM NEGATIVE FOR COVID,” he wrote on Monday. “If you have any doubts about your Home Covid Test results, get tested through a lab. I have had Covid and 3 shots. With my antibodies there’s little chance of me contracting it now. Thanks for all your concern.”

Omicron has quickly become the most common form of the coronavirus in the U.S., accounting for 73% of all cases, according to federal officials.

Based on early studies, those who are up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines are far less likely to be admitted to hospital with the omicron variant than the previous delta strain. However, the higher transmissibility of omicron means the risk of health systems being overloaded during the winter period is still quite high.

“It is clear that if you’re vaccinated, particularly if you’ve had a booster, omicron tends to produce milder infections,” Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease expert at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, told NBC News.

“What we haven’t seen yet is a substantial body of information about what omicron will do in unvaccinated people,” he added.

After Stanley contracted COVID-19 in August, KISS was forced to postpone a string of shows. A few days later, KISS announced that bassist Gene Simmons had also tested positive for the virus. As a result, the band postponed four more concerts.

Back in March, Stanley told AXS TV’s “At Home And Social” that he was “so excited and so thankful” to receive his second COVID-19 vaccine. “I’d like [to see] everybody just get back to a normal life,” he said at the time. “It’s been devastating for so many people. For us who are inconvenienced, it’s minor compared to what some people have gone through.”

Stanley also criticized people who were defiantly skeptical of mask wearing, saying they were posing a risk to themselves and to all those around them.

“Part of the problem is that we haven’t adhered properly to what should be common sense restrictions,” he said. “And as long as there are people who are negating what’s being told to them, this [coronavirus crisis] is gonna extend further.

“We’re supposed to be a community. And if there’s the slightest possibility that it would be the right thing to do, shouldn’t you do it?” he asked rhetorically.

Last month, Simmons blasted people who are skeptical of COVID-19 vaccines, calling them “delusional” and the “enemy” and saying they are posing a risk to themselves and to all those around them.

In October, Rolling Stone magazine published a story in which a group of KISS roadies suggested that the lack of COVID protocols enforced on the band’s “End Of The Road” farewell tour led to the death of a longtime guitar tech, 53-year-old Francis Stueber. Stueber died of coronavirus in his Detroit hotel room on October 17, just two days after being quarantined. The crew members claimed the tour didn’t take strict enough safety measures, including not testing everyone regularly. In addition, some crew members allegedly disguised their illness and/or faked vaccine cards.

In a statement, the KISS members said that they were “profoundly heartbroken” by the passing of Stueber, but added, “We are now aware there were crew members who attempted to conceal signs of illness, and when it was discovered, refused medical attention…. Furthermore, it has recently been brought to our attention that certain crew members may have provided fake vaccination cards which, if true, we find morally reprehensible (as well as illegal), putting the entire tour in harm’s way.”
