Album Premiere: Lord Vigo Step Into the Unknown with New Album ‘Walk the Shadows’

German epic doom sorcerers Lord Vigo are set to return this May with Walk the Shadows, their sixth full-length album, out via High Roller Records. Following the dark grandeur of their conceptual albums Danse De Noir (2020) and We Shall Overcome (2022), the band steps outside the confines of a trilogy for the first time in years—venturing into deeper, darker territory.

“This time there’s no overarching story—just eight individual songs,” explains drummer, vocalist, and keyboardist Vinz Clortho. “It was a real change of pace after two elaborate concept albums—and it was fun.”

That new energy burns through Walk the Shadows, as Lord Vigo expands beyond epic doom into an eclectic blend of gothic horror, dark rock, and post-punk textures. Echoes of Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, and even early The Cure haunt the album’s atmosphere, without ever sacrificing the band’s metallic backbone. “Every album sounds different,” says Clortho. “We are leaving our comfort zone here—and that’s exactly why I think Walk the Shadows could be a defining record for us.”

The lead single and title track, “Walk the Shadows,” sets the stage with brooding drama, while songs like “Through a Glass Darkly” and “Servant of the Dark” summon a Gothic twilight zone between worlds. Closing the album is the sprawling 12-minute epic “El Hakim,” a deep dive into atmospheric grandeur.

Lord Vigo have always forged their own path—and with Walk the Shadows, they sound more fearless, and more compelling, than ever. Order Walk the Shadows here.
