Album Premiere: Bosphorus – ‘Slow Burn’

Dropping an album this size should require a certified crane operator, but we’re gonna try our best with what we’ve got. Bosphorus formed six years ago, playing a blend of post-metal, post-hardcore and sludge. For them, that means big riffs, unique melodicism and memorable compositions. After honing their sound across two EPS, the Scottish trio will now release their debut full-length album this Friday, September 25, through Trepanation Recordings.

Produced by Chris Fielding (of Conan) at Foel Studios, mastered by James Plotkin, Slow Burn comprises six songs of astonishing range, yet focused intent. For all its colossal size and dynamic sound, Slow Burn will surely expand horizons while simultaneously crushing preconceived notions and stagnant expectations.

“We are so pleased to have Decibel premiere our debut album,” the band effuses via email. “To be featured on the same site as so many great bands is a real honour!” They go on to say that Slow Burn “deals with the anguish and isolation of being an anxious and depressive person, but ultimately realising that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”

They add, “Recording the record with Chris Fielding was a great experience and definitely one we want to repeat in the future, as the second record is already taking shape.”
