For Tempe, Arizona-based trio Bright Sunshine, business is important, uh, business. To make sure everyone’s on the same page about it, they even penned a song to drive the message home: “Year End Goals,” a new selection from their forthcoming sophomore album, Executive Power Supreme.
Musically, it’s something of a cross between Reptilian Records-style noise rock (fitting, since Reptilian is handling the release) and heavy punk, with a dose of Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Deadguy. When asked what inspired Bright Sunshine to write this song, they made it clear to Decibel that music is serious business.
“We made a commitment. Our commitments are sacred. We’re not gonna punt on this. Chris brought the fast verse part and the mid-tempo chorus part. The team got to work and broke it down once and then broke it down again and that’s how we hit a 56-yard field goal with three seconds left to nail these Year End Goals.”
Lock the fuck in and listen to “Year End Goals” below. It’s available to the public on July 11 via the aforementioned Reptilian Records but you can gain an early advantage over the competition with this Bandcamp stream.
