Greetings, Decibel readers!

It’s time for another round of new releases, and this week we’ve got two big names with Cryptopsy and Helheim, but also a few lesser-own acts we think you need to check out.

Enjoy!

Angel of Damnation – Ethereal Blasphemy

When it’s coming from Dying Victims, you have a good idea of what’s in store: vintage vibes mixed with modern power. For those of you who enjoy the doom metal classics, Angel of Damnation is the band for you.

Cryptopsy – An Insatiable Violence

One of the most brutal acts returns with all cannons blazing. By the way, Cryptopsy also graces the latest issue of Decibel. So pick that up if you want to know even more about the album and the band’s current place in the metal pantheon.

Helheim – HrabnaR / Ad vesa

For fans of Viking metal, particular its black metal variant, Helheim is a legendary name. But the band took an interesting turn on this latest offering: “On this record, Helheim has made a split album with themselves. For the first time, the main songwriters V’gandr and H’grimnir have divided the album in two where they solely take care of the vocals on the part they represent musically. This has resulted in two very different expressions – not uncommon for this band, but never as clearly as here.”

Valdrin – Apex Violator

Melodic black metal with a dissonant, cinematic edge.

Warslaughter – Exacerbación EP

Oh hell yes. Super dissonant, super raw, super brutal blackened death metal. This is definitely one of those cases where it helps to have lower production value.
