Fields of Yore by Deciduous Forest, the solo project of Australian multi-instrumentalist and composer Snjór, is out June 23 via Gutter Prince Cabal. You can hear the record for the in advance thanks to Decibel!

Based in Brisbane, the strange, atmospheric artist channels emotion and reflection on this record.

Fields of Yore explores the dark corners of the human psyche,” he says about the record. “Traversing themes of regret and misanthropy alongside conditions such as insomnia and grief, the album seeks to combine atmospheric black metal and neofolk with ambient orchestral scores in a way to blend light and shade without losing the extreme metal edge.
 The album serves as both outlet and reflection for Snjór as he seeks to express the darkest corners of human emotions. Through combining various instruments and musical expressions to paint a tapestry of sound.”
