Philly post-metal-meets-hardcore crew Phantom Heir are poised to release their third album, Fragile Immortals, next month but they’re offering the second advance track early.
“The Tyrants” focuses on building atmosphere through chugging guitars and expressive melodies, combining a 2000s-style heaviness with modern post-metal tendencies.
Speaking about the track, Phantom Heir said:
“This song is the crux of this release. It’s a meditation on how no matter how seemingly powerful a tyrant may be, they are still human and fallible; all empires inevitably fall.”
The soundtrack to the end times is out on Fourth of July: pre-orders are available via Bandcamp
