Greetings, Decibel readers!
We’ve got five much-needed distractions for you below, including the latest from sludge-metal legends, Crowbar, and host of other death-laden noise for you to escape in this weekend.
Enjoy!

Crowbar – Zero And Below
For disciples of the almighty riff, Crowbar is a longstanding institution. The band’s haunting brand of sludge metal is now well established, all the band needs to do is keep cranking out records like this and we’ll be satisfied.

Cryptworm – Spewing Mephitic Putridity
It sounds exactly how you’d expect. It’s really filthy Autopsy-worshiping death metal.
—
Haunted Shores – Void
I have a soft spot for Periphery, as they’re the only band to come out of the Sumerian-core/djent-era of 2009-2012 that ever really stuck with me. So I can’t help but support Mark and Misha’s instrumetal side project. It’s as techy and noodly as you expect, but with more of a black and death metal energy than the band’s day job.

Jesus Wept – Psychedelic Degeneracy
I hope you like Carcass, cause these guys sure do!
—
Kharon – Shores of Acheron
A lesser-known but long-running blackened-death metal act from Norway, this is Kharon‘s first full-length release. It must be satisfying for the band to finally get these riffs out there. If you like Necrophobic, Naglfar and God Dethroned, crank this up.
