CRADLE OF FILTH Announces U.S. Tour With 3TEETH And ONCE HUMAN
British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH will return to American shores this fall for the “Lustmord And Tourgasm” tour, featuring an epic full performance of the band’s classic 1998 concept album “Cruelty And The Beast” for the first time ever, as well as an encore of other CRADLE OF FILTH fan favorites.
“It’s been far too long America, but soon we will return to haunt your shores again,” says vocalist Dani Filth. “We, as a band, are very much looking forward to coming back to the States and performing ‘Cruelty And The Beast’ in its entirety (plus some firm fan favourites), which was our earlier intention before the Pandemic reared its ugly head.”
Joining CRADLE OF FILTH will be 3TEETH and ONCE HUMAN.
“To say we’re very excited about this, plus the support of 3TEETH and ONCE HUMAN is an overwhelming understatement!” Filth says.
Says ONCE HUMAN guitarist Logan Mader: “After nearly two years of being pent up, it’s time to let loose! We are beyond ready to hit the road and destroy stages this October supporting the mighty CRADLE OF FILTH and in support or our new single ‘Deadlock’, featuring Robb Flynn. ONCE HUMAN’s new album will be out early ’22, more singles to come!”
Released in 1998, the monumental “Cruelty And The Beast” is based on the legend of the Hungarian “blood countess” Elizabeth Báthory. Born into a prominent Hungarian family in 1560, Bathory went on to torture and kill an unknown number of women and girls — reportedly up to 650 — between 1590 and 1610. Despite evidence against her, Bathory was spared a death sentence by her family’s prominence and was sentenced to imprisonment at Čachtice Castle in Hungary (now Slovakia) until her death in 1614. Bathory is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most prolific female killer in history.
This harrowing tale was brought to life musically on “Cruelty And The Beast”, a grandiose endeavor that introduced a more gothic influence to the extreme metal band’s sound, with vocal choirs and string elements working in synch with CRADLE OF FILTH’s trademark guitar riffs and blast beats. To complete the vision, the band included guest narration by actress Ingrid Pitt, who played the role of Bathory in the 1971 Hammer cult classic “Countess Dracula”. The album also served as CRADLE OF FILTH’s formal introduction to North American, after already catching the ears of fans across the pond with their “The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh” and “Dusk And Her Embrace” albums.
CRADLE OF FILTH “Lustmord And Tourgasm” tour dates with 3TEETH and ONCE HUMAN:
Oct. 01 – Dallas, TX – Gas Monkey
Oct. 02 – Austin, TX – Come and Take It Live
Oct. 03 – Houston, TX – White Oak Music Hall
Oct. 05 – Atlanta, GA – Masquerade
Oct. 07 – Baltimore, MD – Baltimore Soundstage
Oct. 09 – Boston, MA – Paradise Rock Club
Oct. 10 – Harrisburg, PA – HMAC
Oct. 11 – New York, NY – Irving Plaza
Oct. 12 – Brooklyn, NY – Warsaw

Oct. 15 – Detroit, MI – Harpo’s
Oct. 16 – Chicago, IL – Radius
Oct. 18 – Denver, CO – Ogden Theatre
Oct. 20 – Tempe, AZ – Marquee Theatre

Oct. 22 – San Diego, CA – Observatory North Park

Oct. 24 – Sacramento, CA – Ace of Spades

CRADLE OF FILTH will release its 13th studio album, “Existence Is Futile”, on October 22. Pieced together in isolation, at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with studio guru Scott Atkins (DEVILMENT, BENEDICTION, VADER), the band’s latest chef-d’oeuvre is a pitch-black, perverse and at times absurdly brutal and extreme masterpiece following a truly nihilistic concept.
Diehard fans will be thrilled to learn that horror icon Doug “Pinhead” Bradley makes a welcome return to the CRADLE fold, lending his dulcet tones to the band’s most politically astute song to date, the epic “Suffer Our Dominion” as well as the album bonus track “Sisters Of The Mist”, which is the conclusion to the “Her Ghost In The Fog” trilogy that started over 20 years ago on the infamous and classic “Midian”.
Three months ago, CRADLE OF FILTH announced the addition of keyboardist Anabelle Iratni to the band’s ranks.
Iratni, who previously played alongside CRADLE OF FILTH frontman Dani Filth in DEVILMENT, as well as her own group VEILE, made her live debut with CRADLE OF FILTH on May 12 during the band’s livestreamed concert.
Anabelle joined CRADLE OF FILTH as the replacement for Lindsay Schoolcraft, who announced her departure from the group in February 2020 after a seven-year run.

SEPULTURA's ANDREAS KISSER On JOEY JORDISON's Death: 'It's A Great Loss For All Of Us'
In a brand new interview with Knotfest.com’s “Talk Toomey” podcast, SEPULTURA’s Andreas Kisser reflected on the recent passing of former SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I had the privilege to work very closely with Joey and [late SLIPKNOT bassist] Paul Gray on the ‘Roadrunner United’ album and party that was done in 2005 in New York, the special show. We spent two weeks in Los Angeles working. It was myself, Joey Jordison, Paul Gray, Dino Cazares [FEAR FACTORY] and Roy Mayorga [STONE SOUR, SOULFLY]. And we kind of organized the whole concert. I played, basically, the whole concert together with Dino. And Joey and Paul were big SEPULTURA fans; they knew everything about the band. We even changed the ending of ‘Roots’ by Joey’s suggestion. [He said], ‘I love that part at the end which is very slow. But it’s too short. Let’s make it longer.’ And we did it. So it’s a very special version of ‘Roots’, of course, that we have everybody together. It was the last song of the show and representing the whole historical meaning of SEPULTURA and Roadrunner. And a very special version because of him — because he wanted to do that change. And it happened that way.
“With Paul as well, we even were talking to do something together, a special project,” he continued. “He was in my band HAIL!, with me and Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens [JUDAS PRIEST] and Paul Bostaph [SLAYER]. But it was the week he died. He was rehearsing for us to get together and go on tour in Europe and stuff. So we kind of were working togethers something. And HAIL! was the first thing that we started. And, unfortunately, it didn’t happen.
“They were too young [to die],” Andreas added. “It’s very shocking. They were so creative, so nice people, so sweet, so easy to work [with] — great ideas, and et cetera. Like I said, we spent two weeks together in Los Angeles, then we went to New York and we then we jammed on that fantastic show together. And we met each other on the road a few times.
“Yeah, my condolences to all the Knotfest people and the SLIPKNOT fans and everybody involved. It’s a great loss for all of us. But I’ll have great memories forever with them. And it’s a fantastic duo.”
SLIPKNOT announced its split with Jordison in December 2013 but did not disclose the reasons for his exit. The drummer subsequently issued a statement saying that he did not quit the group.
The same year that he exited SLIPKNOT, Jordison launched the band SCAR THE MARTYR and later, VIMIC. He also collaborated with former DRAGONFORCE and current KREATOR bassist Frédéric Leclercq in SINSAENUM.
Jordison’s family released a statement last Tuesday in which they wrote “To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart and his love for all things family and music.”
The family will have a private funeral service.

SAMMY HAGAR Says EDDIE VAN HALEN Wanted To 'Make Some Noise' Together Again
During a July 30 Instagram Live chat with Washington Post reporter Geoff Edgers, Sammy Hagar spoke how he mended his relationship with the late Eddie Van Halen. Prior to the guitarist’s October 2020 passing, Sammy said that the two were fortunately able to reconnect thanks to the great comedian George Lopez.
“When I [reconnected] with Eddie four or five months before he died, we got together and we kind of made amends,” he said. “It wasn’t, like, ‘Oh, you’ve gotta apologize for this.’ When I talked to him the first time after all of ’em years, I said, ‘Hey, Eddie, I’ve been trying to get a hold of you. I called your brother.’ He [said], ‘Why didn’t you call me?’ I’m going, ‘Well, it’s a good point.’ And I said, ‘I wanted to make sure you were cool with me getting in contact. I didn’t want you to call me some names and hang up the phone and stir the whole thing back up.’ And he said, ‘No, no, no.’ He said, ‘I love you, man.’ And I realized at that point that he had elevated his whole thing. He had come to peace with everything. He knew he was sick. And it was so great to contact the guy when he was in that state of mind. If I had got him six months earlier, it probably would have been, ‘You said this. You said that.’ He was totally above it all and elevated. And, man, I’m so glad that that happened at that time, because if it wouldn’t have, if we had never made peace and he would have passed the way he did, I would feel terrible. I wouldn’t be able to talk to you about it. I wouldn’t know what to say. So I’m so grateful that we connected. And he said, ‘Hey, let’s make some noise.’ He goes, ‘I’ve got a lot of work to do on myself this year. You ain’t gonna believe it. I’ve been fighting this stuff for 15 years. And now I’ve got this big thing on my neck and my throat right now. I’ve gotta get it all straightened out. And next year, you and I have gotta make some noise. We made some great music together, and I wanna do it again.’ I was just, like, ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘Eddie, that ain’t what I’m calling you about. I’m calling about to see if you’re okay.’ But hearing those things really made me able to handle his death. ‘Cause it’s still tough as hell. I miss the guy.”
Hagar also discussed the musical chemistry he shared with Van Halen, saying: “We wrote all those songs together. It ain’t, like, ‘Oh, we wrote a couple of songs together.’ We wrote every VAN HALEN song from my era, from ’85 to ’95, and then three more on the [2003-05] reunion thing. We wrote all them songs together. You don’t write songs like that with a real musician and real musicians getting together — you don’t phone that in. You don’t do it by e-mail. No. We sat in rooms together, him and I, and wrote those songs and went and sang them, and he coached me through things he might hear… I miss that. There’s nobody like that.”
Hagar replaced David Lee Roth in VAN HALEN in 1985 and recorded four studio albums with the band — “5150”, “OU812”, “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” and “Balance” — all of which topped the U.S. chart.
Sammy, Eddie, Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony last teamed up in 2004 for a U.S. summer tour. In exchange for taking part in the tour, Anthony reportedly had to agree to take a pay cut and sign away his rights to the band name and logo.
In his autobiography, “Red: My Uncensored Life In Rock”, Hagar slammed Eddie, saying the guitarist was unkempt, hunched over, frighteningly skinny, drinking wine straight out of a bottle, missing part of his tongue (after a cancer scare) and several teeth. He told an interviewer in 2012: “What happened on that reunion tour in ’04 was some of the most miserable, back-stabbing dark crap I’ve ever been involved with my whole life.”
In a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone, Eddie questioned an “embellished” portion of “Red: My Uncensored Life In Rock” that painted the guitarist as a “very angry drunk” during the group’s 2004 reunion tour.
Last November, Eddie’s son Wolfgang revealed that his father had contemplated a “kitchen-sink tour” that would have included Anthony, as well as vocal turns from both Hagar and Roth. There was even talk about bringing back Gary Cherone, who sang with VAN HALEN on one poorly received album, 1998’s “Van Halen III”.
Eddie died at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California. The iconic VAN HALEN axeman passed away from complications due to cancer, his son confirmed.

MINISTRY's AL JOURGENSEN Blasts Anti-Vaxxers: 'Just Go Get Your Damn' Vaccine
MINISTRY’s Al Jourgensen has blasted people who are hesitant to roll up their sleeves and receive the COVID-19 vaccine, saying that their refusal to get the shot is putting all of our health at risk.
The 62-year-old Jourgensen addressed the hot-button issue in a new interview with the “RRBG Podcast”. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I went and saw Jim Jefferies last night, the comedian. And I’ve got a feeling that might be the last show that we might be seeing for a while.
“I mean, it’s just, like, ‘People. Really?’ Look, even if the government is microchipping us and we’re all gonna have alien DNA and all that, at least we’re all gonna go down together. But in the meanwhile, let’s not make each other sick. Just go get your damn vax. I’ve had mine for months. I’m even gonna get a booster before I go on tour. I wanna make sure that I don’t infect people and people don’t infect me. [It’s] not a hundred percent accurate, as nothing in this world or universe is, but just do it, please, so we can have our lives back, our entertainment back.”
Jourgensen went on to say that quarantine “worked out quite well” for him despite the fact that he was unable to tour. “I got to do three albums during quarantine here in my studio,” he said. “I’ve got a MINISTRY album coming out, I have another MINISTRY album that’s done except for the vocals, and I have a LARD record coming out. All through quarantine, because what else are you gonna do? So it actually worked out pretty well for me, and I never got [COVID-19]. I followed all the rules and did all the masks and all that. But people would just rather… It’s like a six-year-old tantrum. Like, ‘I’m gonna spite myself just to prove a point,’ or something. C’mon, man. We all live on this planet. Just go get vaccinated. Just do it. It’s no big deal. We’re all gonna fucking die. So, just do it. Let us go back to work.”
According to Jourgensen, one of the biggest problems is the fact that disinformation has been amplified on social media platforms during the coronavirus pandemic.
“What pisses me off is that mainstream media and social media give voice to these children having tantrums and put it on an equal scale with people who actually do science and know what they’re talking about,” he said. “Yet they have equal coverage, because it sells commercials for media and all that. So they give it equal weight. And there is no equal weight. You people are stupid; these people are not. Cover the people that aren’t stupid. Bingo.
“The angrier you get, the more headlines you get, but that doesn’t mean the more logic you have,” he added. “It’s just dumb. Society has just spiraled down into this dumb magic kingdom where up is down and green is blue. Whatever.”
MINISTRY will release its 15th studio album, “Moral Hygiene”, on October 1 via Nuclear Blast Records.
“Moral Hygiene” includes the previously released “Alert Level” that sounded the alarms about our collective dissonance towards the pandemic, climate change and the man formerly in the White House, bolstered by the song’s overarching question posed to listeners: “How concerned are you?” The new album also adds perspective to the countless lives that were tragically lost to the COVID-19 pandemic on the haunting track “Death Toll” while “Disinformation” describes the too frequent willingness to accept everything — even mistruths — as fact.
“Moral Hygiene” was recorded with engineer Michael Rozon (also behind the boards on “AmeriKKKant”) at Scheisse Dog Studio, Jourgensen’s self-built home studio and creative lab. As with all MINISTRY albums, all songs are written and performed by Jourgensen. Additional contributions come from Morrison, Cesar Soto (MAN THE MUTE), John Bechdel (KILLING JOKE, FEAR FACTORY), Roy Mayorga (STONE SOUR, SOULFLY, NAUSEA), Paul D’Amour (TOOL, FEERSUM ENNJIN), Arabian Prince (N.W.A.), Jello Biafra (DEAD KENNEDYS) and sitar player Flash.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE To Headline 2022 Edition Of COACHELLA
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival co-founder Paul Tollett has confirmed that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and Travis Scott will headline the 2022 edition of the festival. Both acts were originally booked for 2020 prior to the festival’s postponement due to the pandemic.
Coachella is now set to be held over the weekends of April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Tollett discussed the 2022 lineup in an interview with the Los Angles Times, explaining that he wanted to provide fans some reassurance after the chaos and uncertainty of the last year and a half.
“Right now, it’s the Wild West,” he said. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.”
Frank Ocean was not available for the latest rescheduled Coachella but will return as a headliner in 2023.
The California desert festival was one of the first major music events to be affected by COVID-19, moving from its usual April 2020 dates to two weekends in October 2020 before being canceled altogether. Most recently, organizers Goldenvoice were planning to host the event this on April 9-11, 2021 and April 16-18, 2021.
In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, thousands of concerts and festivals were either been postponed or canceled, as social distancing and self-quarantining made performing live music and attending live shows all but impossible.
U.S. officials have repeatedly urged Americans to heed what federal, state and local officials are asking of them in order to curtail the spread and dampen the impact of the virus on the population.

LED ZEPPELIN's Band-Sanctioned Documentary Gets Official Title
The previously announced official LED ZEPPELIN documentary will be called “Becoming Led Zeppelin”.
Directed by Bernard MacMahon, the film documents the legendary rockers’ “meteoric rise to stardom”.
The filmmaker said in a press release: “‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ is a film that no one thought could be made. The band’s meteoric rise to stardom was swift and virtually undocumented. Through an intense search across the globe and years of restoration of the visual and audio archive found, this story is finally able to be told.”
“Becoming Led Zeppelin” will feature new interviews with guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant and bassist John Paul Jones, as well as rare archival interviews with the late drummer John Bonham. It marks the first time members of LED ZEPPELIN have participated in a documentary about the group.
A release date for “Becoming Led Zeppelin” has not yet been announced.
MacMahon previously directed the Emmy-nominated music documentary series “American Epic” about the early American roots music recordings of the 1920s. Page praised the film back in 2019, saying: “When I saw everything Bernard had done both visually and sonically on the remarkable achievement that is ‘American Epic’, I knew he would be qualified to tell our story.”
Plant added: “Seeing Will Shade and so many other important early American musicians brought to life on the big screen in ‘American Epic’ inspired me to contribute to a very interesting and exciting story.”
Jones stated: “The time was right for us to tell our own story for the first time in our own words, and I think that this film will really bring this story to life.”
An official LED ZEPPELIN book, “Led Zeppelin By Led Zeppelin”, came out in October 2018.

POP EVIL Covers METALLICA's 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' In Houston (Video)
POP EVIL performed a cover version of the METALLICA classic “For Whom The Bell Tolls” on July 29 at Warehouse Live in Houston, Texas. Joining POP EVIL on stage to handle lead vocals on the track was Justin Benlolo from support act BRKN LOVE. Fan-filmed video footage is available below.
For the first couple of weeks of its current tour, POP EVIL’s lineup includes two session musicians: drummer Jason Hartless (TED NUGENT) and bassist Joey “Chicago” Walser of EGYPT CENTRAL and DEVOUR THE DAY.
Last month, POP EVIL’s longtime bassist Matt DiRito announced his exit from the band, saying in a statement that “the details surrounding my departure are only known by a few people, and respectfully it will remain that way.”
“Walking away from something I’ve helped build is not easy — but it is the best thing for the band, myself and our respective futures,” he said. “POP EVIL will continue on and so will I, just not together.”
POP EVIL drummer Hayley Cramer was forced to miss the first couple of weeks of the band’s U.S. tour because of COVID-19 travel restrictions. She has since flown to the U.S. and joined her bandmates on the road.
POP EVIL’s “Versatile” tour kicked off on July 14 with an outdoor show in Lake County, Illinois and will run across the U.S. until September 23 including stops at several of the major rock festivals — Rocklahoma, Aftershock and Inkcarceration — as well as supporting SHINEDOWN. Support on the trek comes from special guests ZERO 9:36, BRKN LOVE and LIKE MACHINES (on select dates).
POP EVIL’s latest album, “Versatile”, features the No. 1 mainstream rock hit single “Breathe Again” — the band’s sixth No. 1 single to date — alongside heavyweight tracks “Set Me Free”, “Let The Chaos Reign” and Top 10 single “Work”.

Late RUSH Drummer NEIL PEART's Classic Sports Car Collection Headed To Auction: Video Report
Gooding & Company, the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, recentl announced its offering of the world-renowned rock drummer and lyricist Neil Peart’s collection of classic cars at its 17th annual Pebble Beach Auctions. The opportunity to bid on these extraordinary classic cars, dubbed the “Silver Surfers” by the legendary musician, will take place at the company’s two-day sale on August 13 and 14, 2021.
In a newly released video report from KABC, Gooding & Company president and founder David Gooding stated about the collection: “Neil clearly was an intelligent man, very bright, and he thought very carefully about every car that he wanted to have in his collection.” Check out the report below.
Considered one of the greatest rock drummers of all time, Peart had a highly distinguished career as the percussionist and lyricist for the groundbreaking band RUSH, hailing from Toronto, Canada. Since its early days, RUSH achieved immense global success and established a legacy as pioneers of sound, a feat no doubt made possible due to Peart’s musical genius. Throughout his legendary career spanning nearly five decades, Peart inspired countless numbers of fellow rock stars and aspiring young musicians alike. He and his bandmates were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2013, and received numerous other honors, including the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honor.
Neil also had a formidable intellect which was conveyed in his lyrics, books and numerous articles for a variety of publications. He was a prolific writer who constantly worked on his craft during his down time from the band. His profound lyrics based on literature, science, philosophy and his own life experiences dubbed him the name “The Professor” by the fans. He was revered as much for his lyrics as he was for his drumming, as certain recurring themes such as alienation, the angst of growing up, and the loneliness of being an outsider deeply resonated with a generation of young fans.
Peart’s love of cars was a lifelong passion, and his hunger for knowledge included learning everything there is to know about automobiles, inside and out. Classic cars were what he dreamed of owning for many years, and upon purchasing his first, the 1964 Aston Martin DB5, he exclaimed that he had dreamed of owning this car since he was a boy. Finally in a position to purchase classic cars of this quality, he slowly and carefully acquired each car until his dream collection, the “Silver Surfers,” was complete. Sadly enough, after bravely battling brain cancer for three and a half years, Peart passed away on January 7, 2020.
On the naming of his collection, Peart wrote: “The title ‘Silver Surfers’ for my collection of cars occurred to me while driving the DB5 up and down the Pacific Ocean. Because it felt right to me, I guess — the idea that I was just one of the wave riders.
“I had moved from Toronto to Los Angeles in 2000 (cherchez la femme), and in search of natural peace I often drove out that way and up into the Santa Monica Mountains. Out past Malibu to Ventura County, I’d weave along barren ridges of rock and vegetation, the ocean always on one big side. Some days would be misted by the marine layer, while other days the sun blared through a clear sky. The waves were slow and gentle, or churned out a powerful, rolling rhythm… It was during one of these drives when out of nowhere, it just occurred to me that the color of the ocean had influenced the silver palette of the collection. What other color looks as good in a blue photo? Not black, not white — silver. And a fortunate risk for the framers’ art, too: silver frames.”
“We are beyond honored and humbled to be entrusted with the sale of Mr. Peart’s beloved collection of classic cars,” states Gooding & Company president and founder David Gooding. “Neil Peart touched the lives of so many through his groundbreaking career in music, including my own, and we are confident that his personal curation of classic cars will resonate with passionate collectors, finding them new homes with the same appreciation for them as the icon himself held.”
