KISS Unites With DAVID GARIBALDI And SPIN To Raise Funds For CREW NATION Through PRIZEO LIVE! Partnership
KISS is partnering with world-renowned visual artist David Garibaldi, SPIN and leading sweepstakes platform Prizeo to raise funds for Crew Nation at the North American stops on the final leg of their “End Of The Road” tour.
After having raised over $600,000 on the first leg of the tour, Garibaldi will return as the opening act for KISS by painting live portraits of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers’ onstage prior to each KISS concert on their final run. At each concert, fans in attendance will have the opportunity to donate $10 to Crew Nation to enter to win Garibaldi’s painting from that night, through Prizeo’s in-venue functionality Prizeo Live! For larger donations, fans earn additional entries to the charity sweepstakes.
“We are thrilled to be giving the KISS Army the ultimate celebration with our biggest and best shows yet,” said KISS. “The ‘End Of The Road’ tour would not be possible without our hardworking crews, and we are incredibly grateful to be partnering with Crew Nation, as we continue to do our part in helping support the music industry and live music crews.”
As a proud promotion and marketing partner for the “End Of The Road” tour, SPIN will join KISS in their efforts to raise funds for Crew Nation, by utilizing their media presence and sponsors to drive awareness to the organization.
KISS and Prizeo joined forces for the first leg of the “End Of The Road” tour to pilot the Prizeo Live! in-venue product, as a fun way to engage concertgoers in KISS’s philanthropic efforts.
“Prizeo is proud to be partnering again with KISS and David Garibaldi, this time raising funds for Crew Nation,” said Charity Network vice president Nichol Carlson. “Our friends in the music industry were among the workers most impacted by the global lockdowns over the last 18 months, and we welcome the opportunity to help these incredible members of the live touring industry as they turn the lights back on.”
KISS and Garibaldi will be performing and fundraising for the current leg of the “End Of The Road” tour, August 18 through October 9.
To enter to win, just donate a minimum of $10 to Crew Nation in support of their amazing work supporting essential music venue staff and crew that have been out of work for over a year. If you want to give more, you’ll get extra entries and score some cool KISS memorabilia.

TROUBLE's BRUCE FRANKLIN Pays Tribute To ERIC WAGNER: 'It's A Tough Thing To Accept That A Close Friend Is Gone'
Chicago doom metal legends TROUBLE have paid tribute to their late singer Eric Wagner who died over the weekend at the age of 62.
Earlier today (Tuesday, August 24), TROUBLE guitarist Bruce Franklin, who co-founded the band in 1979, released the following statement via social media: “We were all deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our old friend and former bandmate, Eric Wagner.
“I am struggling with how to describe the complex relationship we had together, in just a few paragraphs. A person’s life deserves the fullness of a book, but I will try to convey things in brief form.
“I met Eric when I was 16 and he was 18. We played in our first band together and even though he hadn’t realized it yet, I saw the potential that he had. We saw a lot of things the same way, which led us to ditch the band we were in and look for something more serious. We found Rick’s band TROUBLE, who were looking for a lead vocalist and guitarist. Those next couple of years produced the sound and early songs of TROUBLE, that you would all come to know and love. Eric definitely played a big part with his unique lyrics and visions for album artwork, along with his eventual iconic image fronting the band.
“On a more personal note, we could all tell some great stories of things Eric used to say that would make us all laugh until we cried. You had to be there and if you were, you know what I’m talking about. I’ll also never forget the hours upon hours that Eric and I would spend in his apartment, sometimes just talking about tv shows, movies, or sports. Other times, talking seriously about lyrics, songs, and band direction.
“Eric grew from an aspiring lyric writer and novice singer to become a serious lyricist and kind of poet. When the band hit its peak, Eric had fully realized his potential as a singer and lyricist. This helped to catapult TROUBLE to new heights and made forever fans out of thousands of you. Eric was what musicians call a ‘lifer’. He made music his life’s mission. He was always working on the next thing and God knows he wasn’t doing it for the money.
“It’s a tough thing to accept that a close friend is gone and you will never see them again. We all will have to get by with our memories and Eric’s bountiful legacy of music through 5 decades.
“God bless and keep our brother Eric.
“Rest in Peace
“Bruce Franklin on behalf of TROUBLE”.
Wagner, who was reportedly unvaccinated against the coronavirus, died after a battle with COVID pneumonia. Less than a week earlier, his THE SKULL bandmates went public with the fact that he was infected by the novel coronavirus.
TROUBLE formed in 1979 and released several classic albums like “Trouble”, “Manic Frustration” and “Plastic Green Head”.
Wagner left TROUBLE in April 2008, citing his disdain for the touring life as the main reason for his departure.
In a 2016 interview with Oldschool Metal Maniac, Eric stated about his split with TROUBLE: “I was tired of everything. Tired of touring, playing same songs every night. I wanted to do more things, and I didn’t see us doing anything new. I had a bunch of new songs, that I’ve been working on, which appeared on BLACKFINGER records and THE SKULL records.”
Eric was one of the guest singers on Dave Grohl’s (NIRVANA, FOO FIGHTERS) heavy metal side project PROBOT, whose 2004 album featured heavy metal vocalists from the ’80s and ’90s.
Last year, TROUBLE partnered with Hammerheart Records to re-release the legendary doom legends’ entire musical catalog, in addition to their upcoming album. This partnership that will see the distribution of the band’s entire library of music that spans over three decades.
We were all deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our old friend and former bandmate, Eric Wagner. I am struggling…

Rockers React To CHARLIE WATTS's Death
Paul Stanley (KISS), David Coverdale (WHITESNAKE), Tom Morello (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE), Perry Farrell (JANE’S ADDICTION) and Rob Zombie are among the rockers who have reacted on social media to the passing of THE ROLLING STONES drummer Charlie Watts.
Watts’s death was confirmed by his publicist Bernard Doherty, who said in a statement: “It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts. He passed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family.
“Charlie was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also as a member of THE ROLLING STONES one of the greatest drummers of his generation. We kindly request that the privacy of his family, band members and close friends is respected at this difficult time.”
Earlier this month, it was announced that Watts wouldn’t join THE ROLLING STONES on their fall USA tour in order to recover from an undisclosed medical procedure. Filling in for him on the trek, which was scheduled to kick off on September 26 in St. Louis, was supposed to be his “great friend” Steve Jordan.
“For once my timing has been a little off,” Watts said in a statement announcing his absence from the trek. “I am working hard to get fully fit but I have today accepted on the advice of the experts that this will take a while. After all the fans’ suffering caused by COVID I really do not want the many fans who have been holding tickets for this tour to be disappointed by another postponement or cancellation. I have therefore asked my great friend Steve Jordan to stand in for me.”
Although Watts wasn’t a founding member of THE STONES, he had been with the band since January 1963.
He battled throat cancer in 2004 but got the all clear after undergoing two operations.
Prior to Charlie’s death, the “No Filter” tour, which was originally supposed to happen last year, was scheduled to hit 15 cities from September through November.

EXODUS's GARY HOLT Talks About New Single 'The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)' (Video)
San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans EXODUS will release their new album, “Persona Non Grata”, on November 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. A new one-minute video in which guitarist Gary Holt talks about the recording process for the disc’s first single, “The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)”, can be seen below.
“Persona Non Grata” is the follow-up to 2014’s “Blood In Blood Out”, which was the San Francisco Bay Area thrashers’ first release since the departure of the group’s lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of Steve “Zetro” Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.
“Persona Non Grata” was recorded at a studio in Lake Almanor, California and was engineered by Steve Lagudi and EXODUS. It was produced by EXODUS and was mixed by Andy Sneap. For the third time in the band’s history, they returned to Swedish artist Pär Olofsson to create the album artwork.
Last month, EXODUS drummer Tom Hunting underwent a successful total gastrectomy in his battle with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the stomach.
Speaking about the long gap between the new LP’s completion and its projected release date, Zetro said during a recent Zetro’s Toxic Vault YouTube livestream: “A lot of you guys are wondering why it’s taking so long, and yes, Tom’s illness had a bit to play in it. But they haven’t been able to make vinyl. Nobody worked last year. So all the bands that wrote records and now are gonna put records out, they’re six months behind in producing vinyl. So it’s basically what it’s about. So because we’re very proud of this record [and] this record is very special for us, I don’t think that Nuclear Blast wanted to take any stops out on it, so they wanted multiple vinyls. But I can guarantee you it’ll be out in November, and you guys will not be disappointed. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed on this.”
Regarding the songwriting and recording process for “Persona Non Grata”, Zetro said: “I wrote a couple of songs lyrically, but Gary Holt wrote the brunt of this record, and it exemplifies why he is the real deal in thrash metal or heavy metal. That’s why all you guys that follow him and love his guitar playing and his technique and his style, you have every reason to do that. And this record, after you hear the record, you’re just gonna go, ‘Wow! Zetro was right.’ And then performance-wise, everybody killed it on their performance. Tom was a man possessed. Jack [Gibson, bass] was too; I think it’s the best bass playing I’ve heard on a record for Jack. And those that have heard the record think it’s the best vocal performance that I’ve done.”
“Persona Non Grata” track listing:
01. Persona Non Grata
02. R.E.M.F.
03. Slipping Into Madness
04. Elitist
05. Prescribing Horror
06. The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)
07. The Years Of Death And Dying
08. Clickbait
09. Cosa Del Pantano
10. Lunatic-Liar-Lord
11. The Fires Of Division
12. Antiseed
Last week, EXODUS tapped John Tempesta to play drums for the band at Psycho Las Vegas on August 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada and at Full Terror Assault on September 11 at Hogrock Campground in Cave In Rock, Illinois — while Hunting is recovering from surgery. Tempesta was a member of EXODUS from 1989 until 1993 and played on the band’s albums “Impact Is Imminent” (1990) and “Force Of Habit” (1992).
When Hunting announced his absence from Psycho Las Vegas and Full Terror Assault, he said in a statement: “I need to manage my own expectations, and then work my very core back into shape to be fully ready for action. I have no doubt I’ll bounce back and get there.”
A GoFundMe campaign to help Hunting with medical expenses had previously raised more than $108,000 — including $5,000 from Tom’s former EXODUS bandmate, current METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett, and $1,500 from FOZZY singer and wrestling superstar Chris Jericho.

METALLICA: 'Breaking The Band' Episode To Premiere On REELZ This Weekend
“Metallica: Breaking The Band” will premiere on Sunday, August 29 at 8 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on Reelz.
METALLICA is the one of the highest-selling heavy metal bands in history with five consecutive chart-topping albums along with 1,600 shows and nearly $1.5 billion in gross sales. Their 1991 16-times-certified-platinum album “Metallica”, better known as “The Black Album”, changed the course of heavy metal and plunged the young quartet to megastardom. But their massive musical success came with destructive excess and intra-band rivalries led to mayhem, with extreme personalities battling for the spotlight. As the young band ascended to its lofty status, tragedy struck when bassist Cliff Burton died after the band’s motorhome crashed. The death would reverberate through METALLICA for years and it would take hundreds of thousands of dollars in therapy to get the band back on track. Sharing their first-hand experiences working with the band are their former manager Jon Zazula and studio producer Flemming Rasmussen.
“Metallica: Breaking The Band” reveals the inside story of the trials and tribulations of one of the biggest, baddest metal bands on earth.
“Breaking The Band” is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

SKID ROW's New Album To Arrive In Spring 2022
SKID ROW is continuing work on its long-awaited new album for a tentative early 2022 release via earMUSIC. Bassist Rachel Bolan offered an update on the progress of the recording sessions for the LP in an Instagram video message on Monday (August 23). He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I’m on my way to the studio. Snake [guitarist Dave Sabo] and Scotti [Hill, guitarist] just got in last night. Snake braved the hurricane. Yeah, they got in last night and they’re starting today on their solos. I’m heading there right now to check things out, listen and drive everyone crazy with my ideas and thoughts. Not really… I really don’t intend on driving everybody crazy, but who knows. I’m very psyched. It’s another step in the completion of the new SKID ROW record, and that makes me very happy, as I think it’ll make you happy too. We’re looking at spring of 2022 for the release, is what I’m being told — subject to change, of course.”
SKID ROW is recording its new album in Nashville, Tennesse with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who has previously worked with FOO FIGHTERS, STONE SOUR, HALESTORM, EVANESCENCE, RUSH and ALICE IN CHAINS, among many others.
SKID ROW’s new LP will mark its first release with South African-born, British-based vocalist ZP Theart (DRAGONFORCE, TANK, I AM I), who joined the band in 2016 following the departure of Tony Harnell (TNT, STARBREAKER).
Unlike 2014’s “Rise Of The Damnation Army – United World Rebellion: Chapter Two” and 2013’s “United World Rebellion: Chapter One”, SKID ROW’s forthcoming release will be a full-length record.
SKID ROW previously collaborated with several outside songwriters on its new material, including Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR) and Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of HALESTORM, a group that covered the title track of “Slave To The Grind” on its “ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP” in 2011. SKID ROW also worked with songwriter-for-hire Marti Frederiksen, who has previously collaborated with AEROSMITH, DEF LEPPARD, Jonny Lang and Sheryl Crow.
Earlier this month, SKID ROW celebrated the 30th anniversary of its classic second album, “Slave To The Grind”, by performing it in its entirety at The Amphitheater at Rolling Hills Casino And Resort in Corning, California.
Last summer, Bolan told SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” that he and his bandmates would embark on a “Slave To The Grind” 30th-anniversary tour in 2021.
