Wilco continues to switch it up from night-to-night on the tour and their SPAC set was no
exception. After opening up with Mermaid Avenue track “At My Window Sad And
Lonely,” Jeff Tweedy and his band treated attendees to a mix of classics (“Poor Places,”
“Handshake Drugs” and “Reservations”) and more recent material (“Bull Black Nova” and
“Art Of Almost”) before bringing out Hudson seven songs into their set. Garth sat in with
Wilco on “California Stars” and a cover of “Long Black Veil.” The keyboardist then
delivered his trademark “Genetic Method” intro to a scorching take on The Band’s “Chest
Fever” that also featured Jim James. Once their guests left the stage, the Chicago-based
band reeled off a four-song string of “Born Alone,” “Impossible Germany,” “Walken” and
“I’m The Man Who Loves You” to bring the set to a close.
