Here’s the full announcement from Cornmeal HQ:

We’re excited to officially welcome aboard Scott Tipping on acoustic guitar and Drew
Littell on drums as the newest members of Cornmeal. Both Scott and Drew have performed a
handful of shows with the band over the last year and have proved to be the perfect fit
for the future of Cornmeal.

Scott Tipping has been an integral part of the Chicago music scene for more than 20 years.
His diverse stylistic approach to both rhythm and lead guitar as well as his deep
Americana roots and influences have been a welcome addition to the band. He has been a
featured performer with outstanding bands and artists such as Backyard Tire Fire, Peter
Himmelman, The Might Blue Kings and more. Scott has also shared the stage with amazing
groups such as Los Lobos, ZZ Top, Buddy Guy just to name a few. When he isn’t performing
with Cornmeal he’ll be dawning the stage with Magic Box (and long time music collaborator
Ed Anderson).

Drew Littell is a drummer/percussionist from Chicago with an eclectic array of influences
and style to match. Drew brings a unique rhythmic perspective to Cornmeal through a fusion
of mindful grooving and forays into polyrhythm. His drumming is also heavily informed by
tribal and folkloric rhythmic patterns from around the globe as well as innovative
drummers such as Elvin Jones, Clyde and Jabo, Zigaboo Modeliste, John Bonham and Billy
Martin to name a few. Drew studied Jazz Performance at the Chicago College for Performing
Arts at Roosevelt University. He is an active drummer, percussionist, and teacher around
Chicagoland. You can also catch Drew playing with his original band Genome as well as on
percussion with This Must Be The Band (Talking Heads Tribute) and AfroZep.

We have just begun interviewing and auditioning new fiddlers and are having a blast with
rehearsals. We have a lot of great candidates coming in over the next few months and are
excited for the potential of the future of Cornmeal. We will try to keep you all involved
in the search process through our social media outlets, so follow us and stay tuned for
future show announcements and rehearsal updates.
