Throwback Thursday | Yonder's Franklin's With Dead Drummers

Jamgrass stalwarts Yonder Mountain String Band throw their annual Northwest String Summit each
at Horning’s Hideout in Oregon. The 2010 installment of the event featured an amazing
lineup that included The Rhythm Devils fronted by Grateful Dead drummers Mickey
and Bill Kreutzmann. Towards the end of their first set on July 17, Yonder
utilized their guests for a pair of Grateful Dead classics – “New Speedway Boogie” and
“Franklin’s Tower.”

Just after the event went down, Yonder shared an outstanding pro-shot video of the
“Franklin’s Tower” featuring the Rhythm Devils. Not only did Billy and Mickey sit in on
“Franklin’s,” but guitarist Scott Law, banjo wiz Danny Barnes and fiddle player Darol
guested on the tune as well. If you haven’t seen the “Franklin’s” video yet, you’re in for
a treat:
