Spotify Hires Wall Street Veteran As IPO Nears
Spotify is getting ready to launch its IPO. That’s the unmistakable message being sent by a series of major hires in recent months. Investors are likely to flock to the stock; even though the music streamer is deeply unprofitable, despite having 100 million users including 30 million paid subscribers.
Spotify has hired its first head of investor relations, as it works to an IPO.
Paul Vogel is a Wall Street veteran who began his career at Morgan Stanley; and most recently ran the net and media research group at Barclays. Based in New York City, he will report to Spotify CFO Barry McCarth who joined from Netflix last summer.
Spotify has confirmed Vogel’s hire.
