image from www.celebrityaccess.comRCA Records has promoted Sam Selolwane to the post of Senior Vice President Urban Promotion. Now one of the all too rare women of color in a senior executive role at a major label, Selolwane will be based in the RCA’s New York offices and report to report to Geo Bivins, RCA’s Executive Vice President.

Selolwane started her career as a radio programmer and on air personality, later transitioning to promotion executive 12 years ago with Jive/RCA Records/Sony. After 5 years at the label she was named National Urban Promotion “Executive of the Year” by industry organization Street Information Network and played a significant role in launching the radio careers of Chris Brown and T-Pain, both of which garnered #1 and Top 10 singles on their debut efforts.

As Vice President of Urban Promotion, RCA Records, Selolwane developed national radio campaigns for the label’s roster, developing RCA into the #1 UAC Label and #3 Urban Mainstream label in 2014, the company said.

Selolwane is a graduate of Morgan State University and holds a B.A. in Mass Media Communications, with a concentration in Radio & Television Production.
